...As an artist, I have to ask what an orange with cool undertones even looks like.

#orange is like #the DEFINING warm color #how can an orange be cool

Above all, you just have to be confident about lipstick. Depending on what color you wear, people may make stupid comments, and you just have to be ready to snark them to oblivion.

Lime Crime's My Beautiful Rocket is a cool orange! I have it, it looks great on cool undertoned skin. ^^

Ah, okay, so what I as Artist perceived as "muted orange," it looks like? Sort of.

(I actually do know that I have warmer skin from how I look in shirt colors, so.)

Gah, I really don't want to get involved with Lime Crime, but that orange.
I have the revlon lip balm stain in the bright orange audacious, I think?

I think part of the problem is that "cool-toned" as far as human skin goes is still warm as far as the entirety of the color wheel goes!

I've always been drawn more to plums or deep reds for lipcolor, but that cool orange looks awesome.

I actually have a pink undertone to my skin, rather than a straight warm or cool, and very little yellow, according to the matching I got. If I were to try an orange, would you say a cool or a warm would look better?

I love dark reds, they make me look like Snow White.
I'd go with a cool one, personally.

...anyone have tips for keeping lipstick ON your lips? It last like five minutes on me then starts sluffling off or something. I've tried lip primer, long lasting -- lip stain is the only thing that stays and I can't find pastels of that. Help?

Lip liner. Put it all over your lips then put on your lipstick. It will not move an inch.

lip liner, then put on a coat of lipstick, blot it, and lightly apply a second coat. Depends on which lipstick you are wearing as well - i have tons of reds that i have to be careful with, but Kat Von D's Hellbent stays on my lips like nobody's business. it survived a date at a pub basically unscathed.

I figured I'd share the results of the awesome lipstick advice in this thread! It came out great, and so far (~3 hrs into my workday) no bleeding and very little lipstick left on cups and stuff.

Also, since someone upthread expressed interest, my favorite look with the Galaxy palette:

It's Maybelline's Blissful Berry over a Revlon lipliner in Wine. I picked it up forever ago and had a few mishaps, but now it's staying super well. I'm no longer hopeless at lipstick!

Anyone know how to make eyeshadow colour more noticeable? I've tried primer and white base, but not much seems to be coming off the brush. Do sponge applicators work better for that?

try using your fingers, that works for me.

I find that sponge applicators (or index fingers) tend to work best with compact eyeshadow whilst brushes work best with loose powder.

    Okay, I will try that!

Also, I have several different kinds of cheap eyeliners and every one of them comes out in big blotchy blobs when I try to apply it. Is this the fault of the eyeliner or me? If it's me how can I fix it? And does it look bad to not put liner on the waterline, because no matter what I do I can't actually get the shit on there?

I'd say it's the eyeliner, maybe try a new brand, and trust me, putting it on your waterline isn't necessary. you're all good.
