Cat therapy

 

I'm tearing up because I love Salem the tree cat and Bella (iirc) with her lovely white-tipped feet.....

 

That is a very happy friendly sausage dog! :0

this is not a picture but a story

the small dog is small, so small that sometimes he can't fit tasty foods in his mouth because his snoot is too small

even baby carrots are sometimes too big

and earlier he had a bath so he was very cranky and demanding of treats to make up for it

i gave him a carrot and he hoarded it away, but it was too big for him to bite

roomies tried to take it from him, but he saw through their plans to deprive him of his snack, and sheltered it under his body

finally one of the roomies offered him a closed hand as if it held a treat, and the dog was distracted long enough for roomie to steal the carrot

roomie cut the carrot into quartered lengths, and gave them back, and the dog went ecstatic as roomie went "it turned into four carrots! daddy's a magician!"

 

We took Buffy over the field this afternoon and found her a much bigger ball to play with than usual. She was enthused, to say the least!

I'm teaching boo how to be picked up again. For some reason it has been inciting panic in her, probably because before now i only ever picked her up to take her to the vet. She's doing better about it now that we've practiced a little and there have been many treats. Still doesn't like it, but she'll tolerate being held for short periods of time

 

Speaking of being picked up! I've now worked with Kubo to the point where he's comfortable with being scooped up whenever, and in fact likes climbing on my shoulders so much he won't ever stay still for pictures XDD
