Also I'm ENJF and a Slytherin.

I got Undyne and my favorite character is not on the fucking list. BULLSHIT. THE FALLEN CHILD WILL NOT BE DENIED THE GAMES HE DESIRES.

    a red vs blue quiz

it's not as edgy as the first undertale one but it does have at least one "kill them." and it's a bit lolrandom.
re: the quote - i know that feel, doc, i know that feel
a very accurate summary of mettaton :D

16 Personalities Test, which is one of the variant MBTI ones. Questions are on an 7 point [Agree - - - - - - - Disagree] scale, there's about... 60? questions, it gives the XXXX answer with an additional thing about asssertive/turbulent that seems to basically mean "how confident/anxious are we."

I got INTP-T : Introverted, Intuitive, Thinking, Prospecting/Perceiving, Turbulent. This is one of my usual results for this sort of quiz, so I can believe it.

I was going to paste the whole thing but it exceeds the character limit for a single post, so: INTP

that seems to suggest that the quiz has a huge margin of error :P

like, neither of the characters seem to particularly fit you and they are practically opposites of each other.

I answered 3 questions differently between the two results! The other 7 I kept the same.
Common theme between those two characters: mostly comic relief with a side of violence?

i guess that could explain why you could get such seemingly opposite characters, but "comic relief with a side of violence" is not how i'd describe you at all. like, yeah, you're witty and hilarious and punny but you're not comic relief. and you definitely don't come with violence on the side.

Yeah, it leaves the question of how that quiz works. Some quizzes are very direct, Answer X = Character X, where it tallies up the score, and the one with the highest total is the result. Others are more weighted, where Answer X = 3 points Character X, 1 point Characters Y and W. Still tallying up for a total, but the results are more nuanced.

When I see quizzes where the answers are practically quotes from the character, very obvious which is who, I expect them to be the former. And that's part of why I always take a quiz at least twice, testing it by redoing the questions I hesitated on, to see if my alternative answers create very different results.

(eta I took the second Undertale twice and got Mettaton both times.)

    Freaking MBTI-types.

Here's another one, this one gave me ISTJ.

Here's yet another one, gave me ISTJ as well. Plus it asks a strangely high number of questions about people's opinions on immigration, and I wonder what the results are being used for.

    Elaienar "sorta spooky"

I type as ISTJ sometimes too! I'm an ISTP, though - been getting that result regularly since I was a teenager, while I pretty much only type as ISTJ when I'm stressed, usually because I've been stuck in a kind of caretaker position for too long.

My mom is a probably-ISFJ who also sometimes types as ISTJ, which is the reason I know I'm not one for sure. Introverted Sensing (Si) is the dominant function for both of those types, and my mom definitely fits that profile, and I definitely don't. I can't find anything that goes into a lot of detail, but the way my mom explains it to me, because of how every experience is linked to similar experiences in the past, everything she perceives comes with emotional baggage. Which means she has emotional reactions to things like paper plates. I don't really understand it and also it gives me the screaming heebie-jeebies.

@swirlingflight I noticed you also have ISTP as a possible personality type in your profile! FWIW, the thought processes I see from you resemble mine somewhat. Have you studied the cognitive functions? I enjoy typing characters (my own and others) and it got a lot easier after I learned about them. Also, as above, there are functions that are so definitely-not-me that it rules out any type with them in the top four.

Oh, and the Car Model is an interesting way to look at how your top four functions, er, function. For me it gave me a really good metaphor for how I use Extraverted Feeling (Fe), which is my inferior function. Which is to say I don't really use it, I try to ignore it, and it manifests like a toddler in the backseat, with sudden and disconcerting screaming that seems completely irrational but is usually due to legitimate complaints like "I'm hungry" or "someone just pinched me".

Disclaimer: I talk about MBTI like I put a lot of stock in it, but I'm not really sure how much I do. I haven't studied it seriously; mostly it just provides me with a sort of convenient shorthand for discussing personality traits, which is especially useful when developing characters.

"You Are 30% Slytherin, 29% Ravenclaw, 27% Gryffindor, and 14% Hufflepuff!"

You're god fucking damn right I'm a snake.

"Your Slytherin ambition combined with a typically Ravenclaw-esque thirst for wisdom means you are destined to go far in life. People often consider you to be aloof and unapproachable – and they may actually be right – as your passion for knowledge and success far outweighs your need for close relationships. For you, true friendships are rare, but you are smart enough to hold onto those you deem worthy of your affection.

Your slight compatibility with Gryffindor house hints at an underlying desire for adventure that may manifest itself in a love of travel or trying new things."

I WANT ALL THE KNOWLEDGE. AND TO BE THE MOST SKILLFUL YES.

Not sure if that outweighs my need for close relationships, but my striving for more knowledge and more skills I do feel is more important to me than like. Casual acquaintances. What especially trusted friends I have I do in fact treasure dearly. Too dearly. But like the most distressing thing for me as of late is the fear that I might not be able to make it to a four year school and pursue a doctorates and go on my quest to tell one very specific fuck in the linguistics field to go and get fucked because his book was racist and shit. Because finances.

i am going to try though and i am going to write my paper of "why you're a fucking stupid asshole that i hate: now with citations and a study i undertook almost entirely out of spite"

If we count classpects I'm some sort of Space player. Not sure which. Waffle between Maid and Sylph based off quizzes and my personal thoughts on the matter.

@Aondeug You got what I suspect I should have gotten! I got more Ravenclaw than Slytherin, which made me go "That isn't right, clearly I didn't game the quiz correctly" -- which pretty much says it all it needs to. >_>

I hope and pray you can follow this dream because it would be amazing.

(On the personality tests note - I think the MBTI is bullshit but I pretty consistently get INTP or INTJ so there's that. Classpect is either Knight or Prince of Light.)

And thank you! I am really going to try at it because god damn if that book hasn't pissed me off for years now.

that is one of the great mysteries

there's a bunch of quizzes out there, all based on different assumptions of what the classes and aspects correspond to. ultimately they're all guesses since hussie's never come out and said for most of them. but some of them are probably better guesses than others.
