Tumblr post about people complaining on Twitter about "leaves" in their food (which of course were actually bay leaves) reminded me of the time my parents and I went out to dinner and my dad ordered salad, then sent it back twice to the kitchen because there was black insect-y looking specks in it.

I eventually had to eat a bit to convince him that they were cress seed husks and meant to be there. Fucking mortifying.

 

man honestly knowing that a chain restaurant actually cooked something with bay leaves makes me like them more? I've never even been to a Chipotle's, but it's the principle of the thing. although yeah they really should be taken out before serving because they're too fibrous and sharp to play nice with one's digestive tract, and also on account of how many people have clearly never seen a bay leaf before that moment
