Is Nami Tamaki someone on your list? I love her music especially the themes she did for Gundam SEED and Shooting Star!
I was in Paris around the time for their 2012 world tour with my mom and begged her to buy tickets for us. it was awesome. she got me all the merch too. @missoyashirou it is! i haven't listened to her much but i know the themes you're talking about. I have a jpopsuki account and a laptop full of torrents. I think i've been downloading jpop since the ancient times of limewire.
Oh my gosh, same. Now I'm remembering when I used to listen to the Oricon weekly rankings. Fun times....
...L-Lana Del Rey. How much I like any given song of hers is derectly proportional to how trashy it is.
saaaaaaaaaaaaaaame it really was fun!! I wish japan would get in the spotify train en masse soon because it's been my primary music consuption thing lately HOME MADE kazoku has a knack for making me happy for some reason, and this song specifically. it's so cute
No wait, returning, time for more shame. Did anyone else really like Gackt, or was he a fever dream of my mid-teen years? RIP all the music that got lost between ipods breaking or being stolen over the years
anyone else still in the early 2000s emo kid hell hole? for a while i pretended i was too mature and cool for it but y'all, from under the cork tree/a fever you can't sweat out/three cheers for sweet revenge will forever be my jam here's my middle school throwback playlist, which encapsulates the epitome of my garbage taste
I REMEMBER THE MOVIE BETWEEN GACKT AND THE MAIN SINGER FROM L'ARC EN CIEL. THEY WERE VERY EMO VAMPIRES AND IT WAS SUPER HAMMY
Alas, not especially, but you did remind me that I love Sandstorm and always have. (also Never Gonna Give You Up. I genuinely like Rick Astley's voice)
what's with jpop artists being fully capitalized anyway, there's GACKT, and I remember KOTOKO, vaguely, and KOKIA (which is not garbage, it's lovely, holds protectively) Kotoko was pretty great though, I wonder if I'd still like it
