This place's a dreamscape. And it never stops being different, even when you get used to it.

"Oh yes, I remembered them being mentioned before-!" He replied, eager to be shown such a discovery.

He watches Cordelia and her behavior carefully, not making any sudden movements but he's grinning in wonder, "I take it this is one of them-?"

 

"If you don't I'll end up going off somewhere anyway- not that I don't already do that! You should come with ME sometime, too!" He hints at Ford with another grin.

"Sometimes the most horrible things can bring the most wonderful things in the process. Still, I'd have to agree on that- there's enough going on without weirdmageddon!" He says vaguely, gesturing with his hand as if that explained what he meant.

 

He considered this offer, arching a brow as he notes Bill's grin, "Well I suppose... I mean I've allowed you to arrange our Honeymoon and so far that's been going great!"

 

Yeah.

*sighs* There sure is. There sure is.

 

*he smiles politely if a little stiffly at the Welcome Genie*

*the stiffness in his expression shifts into abashed discomfort*

And... how do I put this... uh... is it a dreamscape for everyone? No, wait, that's not the right way to ask... I think I may be hung up on the word "Dream". Hmm. You know what? I'm not sure it's actually that important.

 

... some of the people here are dead, if that's what you're asking. But that doesn't mean you are, necessarily.

 

"Yeah, no kidding! MC&D sure know how to treat a fellow!" He lets out a laugh, rolling his eye. "They really overdid it with the pamphlet, though... But Veenie'd love it."

"... You know, it's an optimal time of year to go on vacation, it's not too crowded in most places..." He hints towards the other, noticing the sigh of what he could only guess would be exhaustion from whatever it was he was having to deal with. He wouldn't pry.

 

"This is Cordelia, and we first ran into her when we were doing field work in Dimension 54!a9. She used to sneak away from her mother's den in the late afternoon and eat our food scraps--she was little more than a pup, back then. And sometimes she'd listen to me playing guitar. I went back there after the Weirdmageddon event and discovered that Gems from Homeworld were Gemforming her planet, and Belle was there, and we got hypnotised. Cordelia nipped me and snapped me out of it, and I brought her back to our home, and somehow she managed to bring the rest of her pack with her."

 

"Absolutely fascinating... and impressive that she'd remember you when you returned-! She must be amazingly intelligent"

"Ahh yes... your 'cousin' Y.V. ...he had quite a number of firearms at the wedding. Probably more than anyone else."

 

*laughs* I feel like I'm practically on vacation already.

But the Condesce and the Diamonds are gonna try to take over Pennarion sometime soon, and well... it's kinda became my duty to save the multiverse when that happens, you know... It's part of joining Ford's motley crew, and it's one of the shitty things about finding a place and people that I care about - I can't just let them get hurt if there's anything I can do to stop it, you know...

Oh! No, no that's not what I'm worried about. Or, not worried at all, just thinking. I- That is- I think I am not dreaming, because that implies another me who is the me-right-now, but unaware. But I also feel like that's not necessarily what you meant by dreamscape?

 

"I mean, it's how he is- can you blame him for being any more than that?" Bill chuckles.

"I know exactly what you mean! On one hand, you want to do what's right, but on the other, you don't want the ones you care about to end up in danger because of that- though in your scenario, it might be best if you DO go through with what needs to be done. I mean, if they're going to end up effecting the people you care about either way, wouldn't it be best to try and fight to protect them?"

 

"Well I'm not trying to fault him for it, afterall everyone else was armed... including myself. Especially with him being a gun god though, of course he'd go big or go home, hm?"

Not exactly but yeah, you're right. For me, the issue is more that, well, I haven't really had loved ones to protect before and it's, well, it hurts in a new way, you know? Hurts in a way I'm not used to...

And I dunno if I'll even be capable of keeping them safe, honestly, when it comes down to it...
