Yeah, but on average it's like

Two per library, tops, and none of them match with each other, and ultimately most of them are splats and not core books. Sighs.

I have never seen a gamebook of any system in the local libraries. I am furious and hate this shithole even more now.

.... I think I may have to make this my tagline. :T But yeah, this is true. My primary special interest is human cognition, I love hearing about what people are interested in. (Standard sidenote for everybody, please tell me if I bug you...)

And ooooo, I'm going to have to read that too. Thanks!

Only a few, never enough, and never in order, which is always the issue with libraries. But yeah, I have a pretty nice local system.

Ooh WoD! I actually met a good portion of my friendcircle through a crack WoD game. I love nChangeling, its fun to make AUs for. I also love the Bloodlines game.

I've actually read more WoD than I've played, though I'd like to play nWerewolf or Changeling someday. And I need to read oWoD's books.

Maybe we could get a game together from here sometime!

I can vouch for the quality of Nochi's WoD snark :p We used to keep a Google Doc with highlights.

Lots of changeling folks here it seems like. I'd be down, but I'm actually already in one, so.

#feels like time to revisit promedemon #did anyone else actually read Promethean though #nobody's brought it up #i will be a sad Nai with sads

I love Promethean so much. I just don't know if I could handle playing it. The way I read the themes, it's something like broken people trying really hard to become whole, and actually a lot of them manage it, which is a very powerful set of thoughts for me but also really, really intense content. That being said, the corebook lives on my desk right now (sitting in a cubby with a couple Exalted books, oWoD Changeling, and the entire Orpheus line).

Yeah, sometimes Changeling and Demon can get that kind of intense for me, I know what you mean. I just have a mixed Demon/Promethean campaign that I really want to run someday, fond sigh.

Since the biggest thing we'd need is someone to run a game how about this?

Anyone who's interested in running a game can pitch it here and people can express interest. Once there's a group, then decide if it's going to be via forum, Skype ect.

    @Starcrossedsky Just coming off a seventeen hour car ride, so I'm a little exhausted, but I was reading Demon: The Descent on the way home, and oh wow is it ever cool. Definitely all about passing, and I love the Cold War espionage aspect. Spy tropes are fun. And canon trans demons! I'm a little unsure about reading it as a metaphor for brainweirds so far just because the initial part has been talking about stealing souls, which is a little more predatory than I'm comfortable with - if reading as a metaphor for brainweirds, it sorta sounds like the Autism Speaks "autism has stolen the awesome neurotypical child you were supposed to have" trope, doesn't it? I think that's mostly an implementation thing, though; I suspect they'll be talking more about how people who're very inhuman learn how to fit into a world that wasn't built for them, and that's much more brainweirdy. And aaaaaaah the initial vignette is so sad. ;;

The soul pacts are really only a tiny part of the game, despite the emphasis things put on them. It's even totally possible to play a demon who doesn't make any, since you can also create covers from scraps.

Which is the one place where I feel the Dev team fell down; they didn't mention at all the possibility of making covers based on internet identities! Come on op get with the program.

OH MY GOD WOD I LOVE WOD
My favorite, favorite game is Werewolf: the Apocalypse. I'm running a game right now for that actually; I didn't get into gaming until college so I had to track these books all down second hand and they take up a full shelf plus of my game shelf but I LOVE IT SO FREAKING MUCH. Every so often I find a book I don't have from that collection for cheap online or in one of the used games or book stores near here. It's like CHRISTMAS but with WEREWOLVES.

My second favorite is Changeling the Lost (new Changeling). I'm supposed to be planning a campaign for that after our short Werewolf game ends. That said, Changeling the Dreaming is fun but it's a very different kind of game. With OWOD, I like to use Dark Ages Fae instead of Changeling the Dreaming; its more my kind of game.

I have some of the Prometheus books, and I enjoy the concept. Unfortunately, I've never gotten to run OR play. Sad times.

I really enjoyed Orpheus; I liked playing that one more than running it.

I also like the old Demon and old Hunter games, and I enjoyed playing Mage. We even played a few sessions of Mummy once, though that didnt' get very far.

That said, I really don't like new Werewolf. Something about it, ehh. And I've never gotten into either Vampire. (I abhore vampires)

I did! Not in enough time to get the fancy book and all from the Kickstarter, but I did get the Changing Breeds one! I also just like hunt of tracking down all the many, many books, even though you get the print on demand ones from Drive Thru RPG. Occasionally I'll get one of those (I've been looking at the White Howler one lately).
The thrill of the chase is really exciting though; like when I found a near mint Book of the Wyld a few years ago!! So exciting.
