this isn't strictly COMICS related, but it's about one of my comics classes, so: in character design we have to draw on-model simpsons storyboards and this is by far the funniest one: we have to draw them kissing and we all needed to take a shower afterward i'll post some of mine when i'm not dying on the inside ETA: someone just didn't draw the kiss and drew "GOTTA GO FAST" instead
I decided to not let myself redraw the two pages I already had drawn and had never finished, and instead am coloring them. they were already inked and if I keep up that redraw remake and never finish cycle, I'll never advance anything. so. two pages mostly colored now, including the hella detailed one, and more pages being sketched from the thumbnails I did. slowly but surely.
I don't have any motivation so it's time for self-motivation (a.k.a. bribery). #dear me: if you finish sketching that page you can watch that interesting-looking drama with the fighting and stuff while you're inking it
long time no see folks! guess who actually finished a project??? THIS GUY! i'd really love some constructive crit especially from people in here so please take a look? it's on gumroad here for the low low price of free. if you can't access it i can post it somewhere else for u tho. hope y'all had an acceptable holiday.
Ahhh yes this thread is definitely relevant to my interests. I have a long form comic that I've been grinding away at since fall 2014 (publishing since summer '15). I've been a pretty consistent weekly updater since the beginning but the US political situation has honestly sapped a lot of my motivation to create so it's slowed to about every other week now. I'm kind of stuck on a boring transitional sequence right now too and that's a bummer. ...ugh, yeah, I don't have much else to offer the conversation except I'm always willing to be a beta reader or help out with editing or anything like that. oh, and yes my title came from some hilarious vastderp drama from a couple of years ago but sadly I don't remember the context.
im dwelving into comic hell, already have a bit over 20 pages thumnailed: and heres me rendering the first page im probably gonna try and render like at least 10 pages before publising anything officially tho because i hate mysel f i hope it goes well wish me lucc
I'm working on a 3d comic. My knowledge of 3d modeling is, as yet, only mediocre, but I'm steadily working on it, and hope to make some progress before long. It's gonna be a crossover between Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha and Warhammer 40,000, because I am a horrible eccentric. Though I am slightly terrified of being sued...
i also unno what to do with the text yet. im using Paint tool sai and i wanna be able to type in the text uhh. ill probably export a png rip
FireAlpaca! I do the bulk of my drawing in SAI and then switch over to FireAlpaca for the text and I have no complaints. There are some things you can't do, like make just one word italic, but that's easy enough to fix if you swap back over to SAI. And I used MyScriptFont to make a font out of my handwriting, which is a fun thing to do even if you're not doing comics.
ohhh thanks man!! im currently usin medibang but its very uuhh glitchy?? i mean it works but yes its a bit wonky lol speaking of wonky, how do you make small banter about patrons being rude in a bar not awkard
fucking hell brain all right already I get it you won't let me work on the funny food country comic until I pass the mental kidney stone that is this depressing but relevant and fortunately short thing Spoiler: Red Sector A, sketchy Page 1 of 8-ish, sketch and placeholder text. I'm gonna hand letter it but will have to redo that at home on the display tablet.
Spoiler: WIP Going super simple for this one. Limited palette, NO FUCKIN LINEART. I decided maybe I better not hand letter it after all and dug up a suitable handwriting-like font to use instead so people can actually read the damn thing.
Spoiler: tonight's progress Really enjoying doing the backgrounds in this one. Mostly because for the most part I can cheat and just throw dark-colored boxes around and maybe scratch some window-like shapes into them and call it good. The comic lives here on Tapastic, btw
a’ight. so. i’ve got a copy of Manga Studio EX5 that I’ve had for a while, and it was fine for the comic work i did with it. downside though, since switching computers, i no longer have any way to install this physical disc bc i have no disc reader and i don’t want to buy one for using literally a single time. does anyone know any way of getting a digital copy, when you already own the physical one? i mean, i have the official info and such with it still. am i going to potentially have to try buying clippaint while it’s on sale to get everything back and keep access to a digital copy for the future? or can someone hook me up with a copy of something equivalent that'd have the same features as the copy I'm holding in my hand but cannot use? (turns out i cannot use nathan's laptop to install it. his disc reader bit the big one.)
also, clip studio paint is on sale again: http://www.clipstudio.net/en i might resort to this, actually. I'll talk it over with spouse when he gets home, but $25 is a decent investment methinks.
I've been doing a silly little comic called Monster Girl Philosophy Club https://monster-girl-phd.tumblr.com/
Huh, so that's you. ...no offense, but there's only so many times you can run the same joke. Do you have any plans of doing something... you know, different?
