today i am overcome by a sudden craving to reread cornelia funke's 'dragon rider,' which was one of my favorite books as a smol, and so far my two observations looking back are:

) twigleg is my beautiful perfect affection-starved three-inch-tall abuse-surviving homunculus son and my love for him remains undiminished by time

) i spent a lot of time trying to convince myself that i wanted to Romance a human version of nettlebrand, the main antagonist and a giant vain foul-tempered golden dragon who abused twigleg for hundreds of years, but no, in hindsight, i really wanted to fuck that dragon
