random curiousity: is 4/20 (as in april 20th, the date) being considered 'senior skip day' in highschools a widespread thing or only a thing where I grew up?
like. on 4/20 seniors skip school. or well, a lot of, if not most of them do.
every single year the teachers would try to lecture everyone out of it, something something education is important

Ours was on a different day, people skipped on 4/20 for other, stoner reasons. I think ours was in May.

We had one but I don't remember if it was on that date or not. I feel like it might have been later in the year for us.

Yeah we had that too, but I don't think it was on 4/20. I think some of our teachers were like "I'm marking everyone present tomorrow, do what you want" lol

we had a senior skip day.. sometime in may i think? student council organized some activities on the quad*, but it wasn't officially sanctioned at all so you could still get an absence.

Senior skip days (yes, plural) were... Hell, I dunno if there was a pattern to em, as far as I could tell it was just "whenever the majority of the seniors felt like skipping". 4/20 was its own thing and usually a skip day, but not the only one. Not officially sanctioned but the cooler teachers would take "senior skip day" as an excuse and not mark you absent.

+1. I honestly don't know how many days I skipped of my senior year, but it was way more than got written down. A lot of teachers would give the seniors leeway when we all seemed burnt out. 4/20 was mostly just a joky giggly day to pass around snacks.

does anyone have a link/info about that comic where the gist is basically "proximity to cats decreases the human capacity to form coherent langauge"
it has a person coming closer and closer to a cat and descending into jibberish
