So in transformers fic there are these things called rust sticks, and when I first heard them mentioned I thought they were cigarettes and a play on "cancer sticks" cause rust is bad for robots, right? Except it turns out that everyone else decided they were candy like pocky. I am not sure whether I am more upset at the illogic of rust being see as desirable/edible or the loss of clever wordplay, but either way it ruins so many cute moments for me Why can't an entire fandom cater to my prefered headcanon /petty

Slash the transformers franchise can be a little prone to things that do a little mental [shifting gears without a clutch] to you. TFA refers to hands/fingers as servos. Well..... servos are already an important part of motors, which presumably these giant robots have a lot of, what with their actuated joints and all. So I categorically refuse to use that word in the hand/finger way. Fanon slipped into spike/valve as the xeno headcanon way back when, even though... both of those already have definitions that don't match up that great to robot junk. Same goes for calipers. I pretty much go along with referring to eyes as optics, even though current canon has characters being totally willing to call their eyes 'eyes'. Some writers go all out and use 'intake' instead of 'mouth', which I plain refuse to use because saying 'he raised his hand to his intake' just sounds weird. But yeah, the food stuff can get strange. Even though rust sticks are common, I've stuck to 'crystallized energon treats.' In some canons, 'high-grade energon' gets you drunk, which... okay, I can live with that. Sometimes it's 'engex.' And sometimes it's oil, which I also refuse to use, because my brain just will not reconcile that isn't how mechanics work. It just gets. Weird in spots. If you ever want some fun, go look up the wiki page for time units in transformers. Sometimes things are measured in kliks (four minutes?), breems (eight minutes?), cycles (two hours?), vorns (two hundred years?), which barely scratches the surface, and things are almost never consistent between continuities, and good luck figuring out what any given person means when they say these words. And of course, in the current comics, the characters just use standard seconds/minutes/hours/years, etc. This franchise is a mess, but I mean that in the most affectionate way possible. (eta: obligatory reference to 'cybervore' as a term that appears in current canon :VVVVV)

Drugs are also a thing that exist, separate from the candy! There is syk and there are circuit boosters, which may or may not be two names for the same thing. One of the main mtmte characters is a formerly homeless former drug addict, and there I've been references to other characters doing the stuff. Oh, and nucleon probably counts as robot super-steroids. And characters will totally drink each other's blood if you let them (blood right out from their heart spark is the best kind, apparently)
why is there so much TAZ art and fic where Angus is Taako and Kravitz's adopted son taako is probably the least suitable parent out of the tres horny boys and that's saying something really just because he's a decent teacher doesn't make him a good father figure, if anything he might be like a big brother? it would be like if amethyst had had to raise steven on her own. a total disaster. kravitz has never interacted with angus even once, they have zero canon relationship, he's never even interacted with any child that we've seen he is the literal grim reaper i doubt his contract leaves him a lot of spare time for childcare taako and kravitz have been on one date, half of which was taken up with conversation about whether or not kravitz needed to drag taako and his friends' souls kicking and screaming into the dungeon of the afterlife, WHY ARE THEY NOW ADOPTING KIDS ALL OF A SUDDEN, HOW DID YOU ARRIVE AT THIS POINT just because they are in some kind of romantic relationship doesn't mean that they are now The Kid People, even if they were the old married couple that half the fandom seems to think they are, what part of either of their personalities indicates that they would want kids ever at all? in conclusion, why, please stop
Related but broader: excessive family-ization of characters. Shoehorning characters into those kind of situations without much thought for the characters' personalities/motivations/etc.
i hate when characters that are not remotely parental get suddenly warped into the most dadly/momly people in the universe it jsut doesn't work like that
Oh god Taakitz. People got real invested in a one date relationship, to the point where I saw people getting weirded out that Taako didn't make a move to abandon Spoiler: Suffering game maybe ink vague Magnus for Kravitz's sake when that whole shebang was going down. not upset or claiming OOC or nothing, but some confusion. They had one date. It's kinda like how Killian and Carrie are assumed to be a serious committed deal when Carrie was the only one who indicated interest and Magnus was the one who decided that this relationship needed a ring. It's not a bad thing or whatever, it's just a little weird to me.
I get why most anamercy fic is also pharmercy. And like primarily so. But that doesnt stop me from being annoyed that the bulk of the fic has anamercy around solely as a thing thst failed.
