...You're probably right. This is depressed-brain starting at shadows and being convinced everyone is going to read me as uncharitably as possible. Sorry, Alix.
Ugh. I hate that feeling. It's cool. I'm somewhat disinclined to add a gender thing to posts, but I don't think it's a "bad" idea, I just currently favor the "less gender in all the other things" side of the tradeoffs. So, definitely not thinking you're bad. In particular, your suggestion seemed to me to be specifically focused on things that would be of benefit to the people using the feature, whereas the bad implementations I've seen have been focused on social controls being imposed on people. So I'd have to actually work at it to read your post uncharitably enough to be mad, and honestly, I'm too lazy to be that mean for no real benefit. :P
After the current discussion about the direction of the forum has been sorted out, can we change how drafts are stored in the text box? Maybe make it so a draft is stored through one or two refreshes, and THEN is perma-deleted, or install a button to let users perma-delete a draft manually? Because there have been multiple times when I wrote out a post, decided it was a bad idea and tried to delete it, only for it to remain in the text field, taunting me, until the conversation had moved on and I had an idea for a different post. This is really bothering me because it forces me to reconsider making the post every time I see the greyed-out draft, and I don't like being forced to doubt myself like that. I understand that retaining drafts is very useful for people with unreliable internet connections or other factors outside their control, but I'd really like some way to get rid of the text that I am absolutely sure I do NOT want to post after all.
If you click on the floppy disk icon on the formatting bar, there is an option to save draft and delete draft. Delete your message, and then click the delete draft button. That should work.
I would be embarrassed at not having figured that out myself if I weren't so relieved that the post is GOOOOONE it won't trouble me anymooooooooooore. Thanks, @Arxon!
Your fave is problematic: Fenoxo is pretending some of us aren't real...? (I wasn't able to duplicate this result)
Ye i kinda panicked for a second like "oh fuck am i banned can people see me right now making posts what did i do" cause my brain is a butt.
The mystery deepens: i went back to the liked post in question (tickingnectarines latest post in genchat thread) and there are no likes on it now. I didnt unlike? Shrug, i guess it was a weird hiccup Edit: reliked and its normal now, so disregard previous post i guess. I just got a bit nervous
...I figured that out once by writing three paragraphs, having to switch computers, trying to click save draft and instead accidentally clicking delete the two are very close
