Several of Watsky's songs remind me of Sans, but especially this one: Spoiler: relevant lyrics I know I'm often told That there's a pot of gold But I don't see a fucking rainbow and my coffee's cold I know I should be grateful I know I'm good and able But I don't have the strength to get up from the kitchen table This kind of shot comes once Another opportunity of a lifetime just slipped away And that's the fifth this month But when you take a punch Don't you ever forget Why you get up and you put one foot in front of the next ... Spent a half an hour Sitting at the bottom of my shower Letting the water run over my body and dammit I wanted to get up but I didn't have the power I don't have the answer anyway Don't want to panic but I got to come clean Because the plan of the planet is just mean Knew it was tough, but dammit it's obscene I been huffing and puffing up to the top of the summit and I'mma rough it if I have enough steam
Several times people have posted things in the Radiant Historia tag involving fanmixes, and every time I've anonymously messaged them this song: It's spot-on enough that I don't need to do anything more than that.
@LadyNighteyes have not played the games but I fucking love Thou Shalt Not, so I may need to investigate further :D
The particular character is a late-game spoiler, but I imagine anyone who's played it and/or heard enough of my endless gushing could guess. Spoiler: Particularly relevant lyrics
oh man this song gives me mettaton and napstablook feels like whoa. the lyrics are perfect: Spoiler: lyrics He went to visit an old, old friend And it was long, long overdue And though they stayed up very late They never talked out of turn or tune And every time they'd say goodbye Well he'd just stay another while They started from a distant place And were so happy face to face The one who left wanted everything The one who stayed never wanted more It's not your choice, it's how you're built It's in a blueprint of your soul The one who left, he dropped his smile And they sat quiet for a while Then The one who stayed began to speak And in his words, he answered why I'm just another drop in the bucket I'm just another song on a jukebox I'm just another face in the crowd Another fish in the sea Something to being one of the many Something to being one in the masses Something to being surrounded by others and not alone by yourself I never wanted the bright lights and my eyes are much too quiet I never wanted them pointing their fingers at me Oh no, but... Something to being one of the many Something to being one in the masses Something to being surrounded by others and not alone by yourself The one who left he knew it then And he would never doubt again He loved this life, he loved his friend But he'd keep running 'til the end All words they said hovered above All of the pain, all of the love They hugged goodbye And in his room, he sang real quiet to the moon Something to being one of the many who get to sing the songs on the jukebox Who get to stay awake all night and dream half of the day Something to waking up in a new town Something to singing songs to a new crowd Something to being surrounded by others and not alone by yourself I never wanted the bright lights and my eyes are much too quiet I never wanted them pointing their fingers at me Oh no, but... Something to being one of the many who get to sing the songs on the jukebox Who get to stay awake all night and dream half of the day Then wake up in a new town Just another face in the crowd edit: i might try to do a lyricstuck thing if i ever get the energy...
Dreams and Disasters by Owl City is totally a Frisk song. Same with Momentum by Aviators and Level Up by Vienna Teng. Aborted Kill All Route-to-Pacifist has Zero by Aviators. Afterlife by Switchfoot is another one. I've seen Centuries used as a Chara song, and Immortals is a good Chara and Frisk song, possibly even Charisk. (both Fall Out Boy.)
I have a lot of these. Spoiler: Highlights from my Gravity Falls itunes playlist Ford's early days in Gravity Falls and his relationship with Bill: The Society of the Blind Eye: Mabel vs. the future: If you pretend this song isn't blatantly about a romantic relationship (or if you like Stancest, I guess) it captures how I imagine Stan and Ford's feelings after they were separated (particularly Ford): Stan and the portal:
Huh, kintsugi won't let me embed more than five videos at a time. Anyway... Spoiler: Reckoners playlist highlights ...which isn't nearly as popular (on here or just in general), but it's going up here anyway because it's my Thing right now and I am trying to be less shy about this kind of thing, at least here on the intertubes where people can just stop reading if they think it's stupid and I won't even know about it. Reckoners' mission statement: David: Megan, eventually: David and Prof's conflict in book 2, from Prof's perspective: Obliteration: Bonus romance nonsense: Megan, addressing David David, addressing Megan
yessss!!!! Some legends are told Some turn to dust or to gold But you will remember me Remember me, for centuries Just one mistake Is all it will take We'll go down in history Remember me for centuries Hey, hey, hey Remember me for centuries
"they say we are what we are, but we don't have to be/i'm bad behaviour but i do it in the best way" "i am the sand in the bottom half of the hourglass, glass, glass/i try to picture me without you but i can't" "and live with me forever now/and pull the blackout curtains down/but not for long, for long"
i associate aviators' Red with post-pacifist undertale, especially with papyrus and frisk as they're the two ambassador options
The hymn 'When A Knight Won His Spurs' will always be my theme for the protagonists of the Ace Attorney series!
Ooh, nice. Another Zelos song, while we're on the subject: "Walk the Walk" by Poe My mother spent ten years sitting by the window Scared if she spoke she would die of a heart attack She listened as her dreams silently screamed They drowned like little dolphins caught in a fishnet Dear world, I'm pleased to meet you
