I may actually join in, with a sort of NPC-ish character who's just. Here.

Probably with a lot of weird backstory for their species...something like magical creatures where there used to be like 50 different species but some guy really wanted to forge an alliance between two single-species nations via a marriage and somehow discovered a spell that let them interbreed, resulting in the species eventually turning into one enormous ring species via magic spells?

Or maybe a young dragon who is just. There. Learning various crafts. Because they want to make a space dungeon/puzzles thing.

 

I probably won't participate much because mod queue PAL's IO board is kinda falling apart, but I'm in anyway!

 

Oh hey, now that the thread's updating again I'll throw in my OC!

I'm thinking a slime creature that hangs out with the space kinksters. Like, roughly average human mass or slightly larger, usually takes a quadrupedal form because it takes less energy than bipedal. Can't speak but is mildly telepathic. Loves sex, snuggling, food, weird music, and beanbag chairs.

(pls imagine a pile of viscous goo with a Ditto face and a pair of headphones kind of just... lying on/inside its mass, letting the music resonate all through it)

 

Bipedal locomotion is more efficient, but a quadrupedal shape is faster!
Unless you're a kangaroo in which case hop on you springy doof.

 

Well, when you don't have a skeleton, having a tall shape takes energy to maintain. Really, the easiest body plan of all is the slug route.

Wait, but that would mean lots of friction with the ground. Maybe lots of little legs, like a millipede? But that would be a pain to coordinate. Okay, Space Paintcat is still experimenting with the locomotion thing.

 

Become a robot. be a robot cat.

 

Get a sled. Get a friend to pull you around. Problem solved.
or robots to pull you.

 

i read a webcomic where there were squidpeople whose most prized possessions were artificial exoskeletons, made out of things like wood.
they'd be personalized and sometimes someone'd have more than one.

My god, I've really changed as a writer/RP-er. I'm a lot less pushy now than I was like 2 years ago. Does anyone else do the thing where they look at their old content and just cringe massively because jesus

If you look back and see some conversations that have no context it may be because I removed the cringiest ones
and also I'd like to retcon my character (who was named "Star" because I was very original) out of KiS entirely if that's ok

 

i totally forgot how awkward enthusiastic puppy KiS em was, because I was super overenthusiatic puppy of a human being who was totally desperate to be fun. but now i'm chill and i'm leaving the peppiness as a character trait because screw it why not
