I might want a new character. Cody the librarian kitty will remain exactly as she is beclaws i still love her, i just might need a different me sometimes.
So maybe Star disappears for reasons that no one knows and I appear from the mist for whatever reason
If I do the dragon thing, can my dragon have been there but in stasis/hibernating, and got woken up by the mist?
Out of the ethereal mist condenses a lemon-yellow, membranous, only vaguely humanoid but overall friendly-looking goo creature. A lemon-yellow voice in your head informs you that its name is Sebastian and it wants to be friends.
iirc thats how snitch got there. Also, draft for the mist: There was a strange song coming from the temple a roving chorus of a thousand different notes, singing themselves into reality all at once. As the song echoed through the colony, mist started dancing up in tornadic plumes before spreading out through the plaza. The mist coils around and everything it touches, in long wispy tendrils, gradually obscuring it from view. As it surrounds you, in delicate wisps and warm golden light, you swear you can see shapes flickering in and out of existence within it. Seconds, or was it hours, later the mist recedes. As you look around everything is different… And yet, the same.
Listeners! Something strange has happened in our little colony! More details as they develop. Or possibly not! We all know it's a 50/50 chance whether we'll ever figure anything out, so just go out and enjoy life! There are new lights over the library! They are pretty, and nebulous, and pink and purple. Though Intern Moss has informed me that some people see them as teal and green. What an exciting day! Also, possibly unrelated, several new individuals have appeared, and some have disappeared! Or perhaps we are mistaken that they ever existed at all. The universe is pretty weird like that, right? As far as we here at the station know, events previously listed in the Community Calendar will still be going ahead as planned. If you know about a change that we should know about, kindly stare deeply into the nearest mirror and think very hard about it, and we'll update everyone!
(I'm gonna use this as the point where Star no longer exists and no one remembers her really unless the mist ever gets investigated and it becomes convenient to have memory fragments) (edit: mist, not moist. freakin' autocorrect)
i saw in the worldbuilding thread that some civilizations "build their starships upon the backs of aetheric dragons" so my character might be from a species of bowering aetheric dragon they're old enough to leave her parents, but not old enough to build a bower and carry it upon his back (dragons, being inherent shapeshifters, are all nonbinary)
The mist works its way into the deep tunnels, filtering through rockfalls and sending a pile of moondust to who-knows-where. In a rockfall, a leg shifts, and rocks tumble down. A creature's feather-fronted wings twitch, sending more rocks cascading down. The dragon stands. It's the size of a large horse already, with its two back-ridges just starting to develop. They don't even have any lighting, yet. Her wings are patterned with magical circuits, allowing for her to fly even in deep space. He breathes magic, not air. With a faint shimmer, glowing patterns form all over the young dragon, and they begin making their way to the surface.
New character: Shardbot, of no name yet. A robot who was so damaged and jury rigged repaired they´re makde of shards sorta held together on arrival. Not sure how to arrive.
Alright then! I'll start off with first person, though that may change. *ahem* It's...weirdly bright in here. Wherever here is. I raise my hand up to cover my eyes and notice that it doesn't do much of anything. Then again, that might be because my hand doesn't quite exist. It's sort of a grey, dotted outline. I look around where I am and don't see anything. A thick mist has covered my surroundings. Suddenly, I feel a huge range of feelings as my nerves come into existence. I feel a tail spring into being behind me. I try to scream out (it really fucking hurts) but I find I don't have a mouth; in fact, I don't have anything at all above my torso, though that's rapidly changing. The dotted line is becoming solid as I become real. As the last part of the line seals up, I cough. I realize I'm quite a fair way in the air. Around me is just sky (as well as a sperm whale and a bowl of petunias). At that moment, physics kicks in, and I start to fall to the ground. I hit the ground with a whump and lose consciousness mere moments after I've gained it.
@Technicality boop, this thread is not for Rp. For that you should make a thread in the KiS subforum!
