A brilliant idea. Sadly I do not speak the dialect and I am unsure if any of my contacts speak it either, or would have opportunity to request audience with a swarm to inquire.

Yeah, and like, you could ask one to... teach you the language. Some of them speak Neocybex.

I do not actually have insecticon contacts in the waking world, regrettably. And I'd prefer not making them accomodate a standardformer, when it is me who is requesting knowledge from them. I prefer equal trades, and I am not sure i have access to enough resources to weigh up both learning a language and getting scientific data of this magnitude.

 

... That... is not a funerary rite I am familiar with.

 

-Lacuna tilts her head.-

I would need to pay for the language anyway, and first find a contact, and determine an appropriate trade.

[She raises optic ridges. Will you out Reffy, Lacuna? Will you do that?]

 

-Lacuna glances back to the bug pile and Refractor very obviously swarming with the other two Insecticons. She then stares at Nichrome, saying nothing, but judging the captain.-

 

Well, if we're ever in the same neighborhood, consider us your contacts. For language, at least-- Thunderwing's roughly equivalent to a Recon flier, he's not all that familiar with the engineering side of things.

 

I bet you do! Soem material is very hard to find. Or you could just give us candy!

-headtilt- You go near where the Ground gives you sparks and you put the sparks back in the ground so he can take them.

[Nichrome to Lacuna]: I am not going to ask Refractor to put himself at risk, either by outing his secondary alt, or by asking him to be my contact for a culture he is not fully part of. Not all Insectformers are Insecticons, and while I try to disregard stereotypes, it is a fact that most Insecticons are built rather large and combat oriented and that they are rather freely violent when interacting with outsiders. While he might be able to teach Insecticon dialect to me in a pinch the entire process would be more than a little complicated given Reffy's disability.

I am thankful for the offer. I am sure it would help greatly either way.

That I might be able to do. My engex tends to be better than my candy, but I am not half bad at making the latter either.

... Deceptively simple and straightfoward. It should be something to occur to people rather quickly. I am not sure why this is not a common procedure.
