*slams down fist* i am so here for erwin smith/mikasa ackerman i want stuff that really, really explores it and it literally does not exist. at least, not where i can find it. they both have big trauma about parents and they're both really into the "my feelings don't matter-scratch that, they don't exist, because there are Bigger Things to think about" thing, to the point that i think both of them would be really well equipped to disarm each other. also the disparity of power is a thing but i like to think erwin isn't a huge fucking scumbag who would abuse that. actually, i like to think that mikasa would have to be the one to initiate, because erwin would be way too hesitant to possibly overstep that boundary i headcanon their ages as like, 35 and 20 while i'm here. mike zacharius/levi akerman is really fucking good because THEIR SIZES ARE REALLY DIFFERENT AND I LIKE THAT A LOT
i have so so so so many rarepairs. like, for one, all my norm the genie (from fairly oddparents) ships are pretty rare (and all my norm the genie ships are literally all the norm the genie ships possible). and papflowey from undertale - which is especially rare the way i prefer it, with them in a healthy relationship. and honestly, i get why it's so rare. there are quite a few things from canon that would serve as obstacles to it being popular in fandom, things i'm not listing here right now 'cause they are undertale spoilers. and i know there are more rarepairs i like that aren't coming to my mind right now. that and since quite a few of my fandoms are small, i'm not sure if some pairings would count as rare with the percentages of those they make up.
@seed oh no... nono don't drag me back into attack on titan like this. not like this... this SHIPPING nonsense, i need to at LEAST catch up on the canon first and see if THAT kills me. my only two rarepairs are Klavier Gavin/Trucy Wright from Ace Attorney (which I'm currently screaming about to anyone who will listen) and Alex/Jonas from Oxenfree. Which. Okay. FINE. AA isn't the biggest fandom ever and that ship is #problemagic according to tumblr standards, though its probably one of the few Trucy ships that makes any sense. They're performers and Trucy thinks Klavier is the dreamiest person on the planet, and he just, treats her so well. They would be so fuckign cute. And Oxenfree is one of the nichest fandoms I know, like... I follow exactly one blog that posts it consistently, and it's a dedicated fan blog. As for the ship, AT LEAST IT HAS MORE FICS THAN KLAVIER AND TRUCY... WTF... I counted 4 on 2 of 4 pages of fic for the fandom and stopped, and that's more than klavier and trucy's two?? But Alex/Jonas would just. Yeah, there's would be a lot of stigma attached to them, being out in the open as step siblings and what not, but they're also both no stranger to stigma, and, you know, after going through a traumatic event such as being possessed and trapped by ghosts, you'd think one would stop caring what other people think. they supported each other and would have been completely and utterly lost without one another, and there may be something to be said about dependency on alex's part there, and maybe co-dependency, but they could help each other out with that! no, jonas, i'm not going to leave, and your mother didn't either, she had no choice. yes, alex, this time is different. i won't let myself leave you like your brother. just. aaaaah. two performers and two new siblings supporting and loving and caring about each other that's my fucking JAM

I would cut someone to get more Rose/Sollux, or Rose/Vriska. Rosemary is good and pure and lovely, and I adore snarky bitches. But where's more of Rose and Sollux being snarky bitches (with Kanaya kibbitzing - heck, Sollux has a dualism thing, and you can always go "well, humans couldn't do quadrants properly anyways" if you really need to justify Kanaya and Sollux in flush with Rose)? Where's Rose and Vriska being terrible for each other (and maybe bleeding out the poison as they cut themselves on each other)? (I accidentally typo'd Rose/Sollux as Rose/Sans initially, and y'know what, that would be hilarious, give to me.)
Oh hey i just remembered i totally shipped davepeta before it was cool. Also ceruleancynic made me kankri/lil hal trash. I had a lot of gang ships as well, droog/stitch and crowbar/die and reverse!Midnight crew pickle inspector/droog and clover/literally everyone but especially clubs deuce and i read this amazing clover/kurloz palefic once. I havent thought about homestuck in forever, wow.
Rose/Sollux is SO GOOD and I love their personalities together. They're both smart and snarky and great. I've seen good Rose/Vriska, too.
JUMPS IN WITH ROXY/VRISKA!! i started shipping it as a joke bc of the wars reddit dudes have over johnroxy and johnvris but!! they could actually have a rly good dynamic! they could bond over childhood trauma and lonlieness and roxys exactly the sort of person whod still want to believe vriska can do good whilst still being willing to call vriska out when shes taking things too far!! their first meeting is roxy telling vriska to delete system32 to make her computer run faster and vriska does it
This brings me to my ABSOLUTE FLAMING DUMPSTER FIRE of a rarepair. Ladies, gentlemen, and others... DAMARA/SOLLUX. See, I was bitter about Aradia getting killed off as a Plot Device in EriSol fics (I don't even like EriSol tbh but a lot of those fics are tagged as SolAra as well and it's like...I do not want this), so I was like "okay you know what? what if aradia died and sollux found himself latching onto damara because they look similar. i'd read that fic tbh" And THEN I started thinking about how deliciously fucked up it would be for them to be involved because holy shit they'd clash HORRIBLY and they'd be AWFUL for each other and good fucking Christ I love trash ships you guys so that's like...right up my goddamn alley. (they don't have a ship song, they have a ship album, and it's tallahassee by the mountain goats) Also, my main Damara ship is actually...well, it's not quite a rarepair but there needs to be like a zillion more Damara/Porrim fics than there are. AND ON A TANGENT: I need this in my life.

TF2 has some beautiful ships but dammit there is not nearly enough Medic/Pyro out there and though I headcanon Pyro as a butch woman I'll take fucking anything. Medic/male Pyro. Medic/female Pyro. Medic/perpetually fully suited and masked Pyro and even Medic doesn't know how the hell Pyro is put together. Anything.
