I thought that was the default? (has been on most of the forums I has been on)

 

New rule: you must post a picture of a dog to be able to get full posting privileges. New users are limited to a newbie forum where they have to submit a unique dog image before being allowed into the rest of the forum
The justification is probably something like filtering out bots

I imagine it depends a lot on where and one travels. I've seen a couple things of a vaguely similar nature around, but mostly it's a event from my first forum, a couple years before I arrived, wherein the admin updated the software, made a mistake and WHOOOPS, there goes literally all record of everyone there and everything that ever happened.

 

I has fun doing that kind of thing but it is hard. That one bit took me about 15 minutes, and I wasn't even trying to make sense.

 

Run entire forum on an Amiga 3000 connected to the internet via dial-up.

 

I've actually seen a website with an IRC chat that had "Predators welcome" as their tagline. They count joining the channel as consent for anything. So, yeah, I think we can't do much worse than what's out there.

 

I think Seebs has updated the connection to shared-DSL.

That was an actual thing in a forum I was in for a long time. Oh also, you were unable to edit your post after a certain amount of time had passed.

There is only one RP allowed. It is where the devs and other staff sometimes play and hash out or introduce new lore. You may not join it, even though we are required to say that you can.
