like i guess this comes down to

i want the default for a situation like this to be "just in case, knock it off"

that doesn't mean people have no agency because they are minors, or their own opinions don't matter, etc

it means, when in doubt, err on the side of stepping back

Because it's not clarified? Because it's rude to make decisions about how other people feel?

i also want there to be a separate NSFW rp forum because i like my boundaries neat

i wanted this before this whole thing and i still want it now

it is not clarified. so you have to make a call. why is my call making a decision about how other people feel, but yours isn't?

Forum as a whole: Thing to bring up with Seebs.
Splitting the SPR: Last time that was argued it ended very poorly and nearly ruined my Honeymoon.

(Not me saying anyone on either side in that argument was super bad, but the argument was bad. What we ended up with is the best of both worlds in THAT regard, I think.)

Because my call is not making a call.

It is fine for you to express your own discomfort with the situation. But just going 'reign in boundaries' doesn't tell us much, nor does what you quoted, exactly. I don't think a separate nsfw thread is a good idea because of specific focus/categorization/brain issues some of us have. This kind of feels like you having your own boundaries stepped over and using FL as a shield for that because you're not a minor, but you don't have to be to express boundaries. Please, express boundaries!

i mis-typed. i want a separate thread, not forum, for NSFW rp stuff, because i like my boundaries neat.
i wasn't here for the last time this was debated (or, i wasn't paying attention). sorry it ended poorly and almost ruined your honeymoon

i disagree but i don't think we can come to an agreement on this point at all. maybe later i should revisit this point. idk.

i have brain issues that don't like this NSFW/SFW boundary not being neat. do my brain issues not matter as much as those of you with focus issues? (also, i also have clinically diagnosed focus issues and i very much want this thing)

I think that is an understandable desire, but there are practical reasons it'd be hard for people. Spoilering NSFW content and not going fully explicit either way is intended as a compromise. If you have more specific things you'd like spoiled, like direct references to genitalia, that would be helpful to know.

No, of course your own brain issues aren't less important. This is a case of mutually exclusive boundaries and that frankly sucks. This is why I'm trying to talk this out so we find a good compromise.

It's not a problem! Would it help you to step out a bit and get less upset before coming back to discuss this, or does it help you to hash things out all at once?

i guess i would really like if all mentions to genitals or sex were spoilered. besides really, really vague stuff like "oh X had sex with Y" or something like that. but it's so klsdaslkdjas because there we have another blurry boundary. how explicit is too explicit.

but yes. any references to genetalia, your character's or another character's, i would like that to be a thing that is spoilered.

and, yes, i think stepping away is a good idea. although i feel like we're basically done here anyways (or very close to done)

Okay. I don't think all mentions of sex should be spoiled but honestly it's up to individual people to decide what they're going to spoil. Specific references to specific genitalia is probably something people will do, tho.

EDIT: And honestly either way I think more stuff will get spoiled bc you've expressed your discomfort, so.

I would like to point out that NSFW=/=18+. 18+ content in the rave is not okay, but there's some stuff that I would personally rate as pg-13 that's not safe for work that had been okay in the past. I'll take your wishes into account in the future now that they've been expressed, but there is a difference and the terminology was tripping me up.

I´m ok with spoilering gential description, since i would have spoilered those anyway. I am not ok with 2mentions of sex" Because that is way too vague for me to know what you mean and 2) I find it unreasonable. Not going to post descriptions or details because 18+ material was never ok in the rave, but PG13 mentions that sex exists and people have it and and will talk about having it, (Flirting etc.) no.

i realized i didn't really make a thing apparent as to why i was bringing this up

i know i said i had problems with the "if i was a minor i would think ____" argument but it's because
if i was a minor i think i would be uncomfortable with that situation, and i think i wouldn't be comfortable voicing my concerns against very well-articulated and kind of annoyed adults.
so im kind of arguing all this shit with that "jake's strawman teenager" in mind. not arguing about FL in particular. kinda just, this sparked a theoretical thing that my carefully constructed strawman based on jake-as-a-minor's feelings and experiences

seed, thank you for bringing up that you'd prefer more of a clear guideline. It's pretty clear for me that you're talking about your discomfort and what you'd like for us to consider doing, not that you're speaking for anyone else in particular. It's a good point that people who are uncomfortable with content in the thread might also be uncomfortable saying so. Plus sometimes we don't realize something's been a discomfort until it's brought up, so it might be there's others who have been feeling similarly but without the words to put to it. I can't make any instant decisions for the thread, but it's really well worth talking about.
