Okay, I'm really sorry and hope you feel better soon.
It's just difficult to actually understand where people are coming from without defined terms, which is why I asked for nsfw and 18+ to be differentiated in the first place.
IMO, NSFW is an umbrella term that encompasses All Things You May Not Want Your Employer Catching You Looking At. That may or may not include cat gifs too, btw. 18+ is directly tied to a specific rating standard whihc is subject to cultural differences of course, which is why it'd help to know which rating standards one is working off of. Dead Dove, as I said, only really meaningfully works on spoilered posts, but it generally encompasses Dark Shit That Won't Get Resolved Or Condemned By The Narrative, as well as kinda violent-y kinks, and a couple other things, which generally means it's by necessity 18+ content.

then don't fucking imply i'm a misogynist for saying that i am bothered by serious discussion of genitals

don't fucking imply i'm some sort of violent freak for trying to work through my issues.

stop fucking speculating about my motivations because i don't want to talk about this with you

    stop it

I did not say any of those things. (Many people have a lot less trouble with violent content than sexual content in fiction without actually being violent themselves, I was not trying to imply that you are violent yourself and I'm sorry that you thought I was.)

The question about female pleasure was directed at pretty much everyone involved in the argument and was about cultural misogyny, not anyone personally being a misogynist.

The other comments were about violence as a theme in fiction, not actually committing violence IRL.

Yeah, one's sapient and the others aren't, so what's the problem?

I do not expect anyone to have all the answers, and do not want people to feel that they can't say what they'd prefer or think is right.

I do ask that everyone understand, "we should do X because it feels wrong not to" is not enough of a reason for a rule basis. Everybody has different lines of what feels wrong. Some of them very strongly contradict. It's enough reason to request for us to consider a given standard with it, but not enough to expect compliance. I'll want a better understanding of it before doing more than discuss it.

I really appreciate Ivy bringing up that one list, that's a nicely laid out example of a potential standard. There's bound to be others, with their own reasonings in them, and I welcome the insight a variety of views offers.

To be perfectly fair, the questions being asked and answered were about the differences. About whether everything that is thought to be true of the first group is true at all, or true of the second group, which includes a large number of characters in the Rave not all of which are mine and not all of whose pictures I added in to this post.

Ipuntya, I think the issue is that you have run some of the most CREEPY-ASS characters in the whole fucking rave and it thus feels incredibly hypocritical of you.

I mean you had a RAPE DOLPHIN THING at one time.

And you are not the only one fucking triggered here. It feels like it only counts to you when it's YOUR triggers.

The rules as written right now are the ones I wrote, based on the previous threads and the various discussions we've had in the past:

The bolded, bulleted points are the rules themselves. The indented text is clarification about what I mean by those rules, and advice how to proceed when running into them. Wherever possible, I'm very much of the rule should be guidelines/advice for what'll most often get the best results school of thought. At a couple points I advise people to communicate when IC gets confrontational, and to spoiler things when requested. Those aren't hard rules, they're the things I believe to be the best way to get a big variety of us to be able to play in the same place.

In hindsight, I overlooked difficulties with that advice. A good number of us have difficulty asking others to change their actions, or speaking up to express that we're in discomfort in the first place.

(Part of why I overlooked it is that the ignore function works out for me a majority of the time; I've got a couple rp accounts on ignore so that I only experience their stuff when I choose to. My problems and difficulty with spr-speed rp lately are due to other things.)

I understand that ignoring doesn't work for everyone, but I haven't properly asked for suggestions on other things we can do. Somebody who's in discomfort, nervous about asking, and worried about upsetting people by asking others to stop what they're having fun with? Not a good combo. That's an unhappy burden, and I apologize for not asking whether that was something anyone's been experiencing. It's seeming pretty clear to me, over the last couple days, that a good number of us have been. So I'm gonna keep listening to peoples' perspectives where possible, and ask some clarifying questions as they occur to me, and hopefully build a better framework for how we can handle the ooc end of things.

Which has included me, I think, otherwise I wouldn't be getting so angry here. Plus I didn't feel that it was OK/acceptable/reasonable to bring up situations where the behavior was within the rules as written, which perhaps was wrong?

It's hard to be wrong when I didn't bother to clarify. A rough/rushed clarification:

My intention is that the rules are the hard rules, where there's no real good reason to do the things the rules say not to do. Those are the ones where, don't do those things or I'll gently waggle a finger at the perpetrator while reporting the post in question, intensifying the waggling if they do so repeatedly.

There's also the soft rule of please don't be a dick to each other. The 'talk in ooc thread about conflict' rule is there partly as a reminder to myself to not lecture anybody in the SPR itself (and really to not start out with a lecture, period), and partly as to give a rules-based reason for people to feel allowed to bring things up that are distressing. I'm thinking the second part didn't come across.

Should we ask a mod to move some of this to TCHGB so the SPR OOC thread doesn't feel so fighty?

Probably. I'm still really angry, and glad that I have a meeting in an hour.

I am trying to be reasonably polite but I am not going to pretend that I'm not fucking furious.

My characters come from several different parts of the multiverse, some of which have very different standards of ethics, but with few and obvious exceptions, such as Bill, they're people who are trying to be better and do good things.

I mean, I tried to make some of the Reverse characters bad but I couldn't sustain it. I can do horrific villains but I can't do them on an extended, hang out and shoot the shit basis.
