1) john never actually said anything about what he wanted ooc
2) I never said john was a misogynist
3) it was seed who started the 10 page discussion, I asked John to state his actual position which he never did
4) I'm p sure the one thing argument island is not actually for is for people to jump on other people because of what they THINK someone said to their friends, have you actually read what Seebs has to say about that?

 

Feffie, that wasn't what people meant. If John is uncomfortable with any mention of genitals we'll spoil that. The discussion was sparked bc people were talking for John w/o him being here, and as someone else who likes him, I was uncomfortable with that, as were many other people. Now, a lot of times by various ratings systems for fiction, mentions of afab people experiencing sexual pleasure automatically gets a higher rating than if it involved an amab person, which is p dumb. That wasn't what Ipuntya was upset at, but CT asked it because she honestly wasn't sure if that's what was meant.

I repeatedly pointed out that John wasn't online to give his own opinion and I was uncomfortable with framing this talk as protecting him because of that, as did other people.

 

You do realize that cT has been the one asking FL directly for clarification and said multiple times to wait for FL to come in for the entire time, right? Because it was not cT who consistently decided to talk for FL without him signifying he's okay with that.
You're not involved in this, unless FL asks you to speak for him, please leave.

OK, you're right, you did.

But I'm not interested in explaining myself to someone who's presumably read all the discussion and thinks my position is that teenagers not wanting people to talk about genitals is misogyny. Either Feffie can ask me what I actually think, read what I actually wrote, or shut the fuck up about what she thinks I think.

 

The original post CT made was to ask FL whether the Kankri and other posts were a way of conveying ooc discomfort through the characters, or if they were just IC and it was a worry blowing up. CT asked in a visibly angry way.

Multiple people have stated that they are not willing to decide for others what their comfort levels are out should be.

Absolutely no one in this conversation has said that teenagers need to be exposed to sexual content.

Right now, more than a few of us feel worried, upset, and guilty at the idea that we've hurt FL enough to be a final straw into leaving the forum.

 

To get back to debugging things:
Are we considering to adjust our posts to aiming for a PG-13 ish rating equivalent with an allowance for swearing and vague references to higher-rating canons?

 

fl has literally discussed whether norm has a dick and suggested that his tail is a dick. i really don't feel like the Think of the Children people have any idea what he thinks.

 

That is an idea under consideration, yes. It requires us to figure out what constitutes pg13, getting the input of the players in the game.

Right now, I'm peeved.

I think this conversation went as bad as it did, as quick as it did, because too many of us tried to rush to solving things.

Please be willing to take the time to do the job well.

 

I'm not sure because I thought I was already there and I thought some of the other people complaining (or allegedly complaining since they never actually said what their position was) were hard R at best.

 

I can't solve anything until I stop feeling fucking insulted and while seed apologised and I am cool with them...sigh
