    Ugh. No such luck.
The only problem that showed up during the download phase:

    [warning] Failed to download https://libraries.minecraft.net/net...1-1.7.10/forge-1.7.10-10.13.4.1481-1.7.10.jar

But when I went to look in the folder, forge-1.7.10-10.13.4.1481-1.7.10.jar is there. IDK what response code 403 is.

And then once the game started running, basically the same as before. The errors:

I went to look, and the file was there, but Archive Manager was not able to open it. So I downloaded the file from the mod's website and replaced the one in the Kintsugi directory.

There were a couple of newer versions of this, but, again, I went with the one that matched. Actually, it looks like that might have been the problem in this case, the file in the directory is the latest version, not the one the launcher was looking for. Yeah, on closer inspection this has a file not found exception instead of a zip exception. Keeping both versions for now.

IDK what's up with this one.

Skipping a couple repeats looking for dependeciesGC.info instead of dependecies.info.
Also skipping a couple more “unable to read jar” duplicates of ones that couldn't read dependecies.info.
Also skipping CodeChickenCore being unable to read things that FML was unable to read.

That sounds like the firewall might be blocking Java apps from running downloads, maybe?

Some of that worked. As for the errors that are still around...

    The one that starts out:

If I'm lucky, this is actually a continuation of the previous problem.

You think? It looks to me like most of it was able to download fine, it was just a few that had problems. Is there something AgriCraft, Automagy, NEIAddons, SpiceofLife, TConstruct, Generators, and possibly RemoteIO and INpureCore have in common that they don't share with the other 180-odd items in the mods folder that haven't had any problems (yet)?

I can't think of anything. And the 403 on the forge thing sounds like some kind of limitation or partial limitation on downloads, maybe? Not sure.

Some things don't go in the mods folder if they're other kinds of classes, the launcher is supposed to set them up separately, I think?

I haven't seen the 403 again since that one time. Thanks for that last comment, poking around the other folders in Kintsugi led me to the more detailed forge logs, which led to poking around the manifest and eventually discovering that it was libraries/commons-io/commons-io/2.4/commons-io-2.4.jar that needed to be replaced, rather than adding it to libraries/org/apache/commons. I have now successfully launched! Now to connect to the server

i was very sad because Gone Tree ;;;_;;; but seebs found a way to re-grow it <3 <3 <3

the perils of having a chunk loader for the farm, i guess -- lightning can strike my trees while i'm not there and start fires.

Connected successfully and spent a little while looking at various options menus, reading a couple pages of the tinkering manual, poking around the roof of seebs's place (sorry about the ethereal platform (?)). Eventually started trying to look around, then started falling through the ground. Cursory googling suggets this is a connection problem. Probably the super cheap wireless adapter was a bad idea.

Hiii... Iiiii might not be on for a while. Went into the hospital yesterday for acute abdominal and chest pain, came back with a pancreatitis diagnosis (they don't know the cause, I don't drink and they didn't see any gall stones) but anyway my computer is downstairs and stairs hurt. But also I am bored. Dilemma. One which will probably be solved by conking out again.

Anyone else wants to mess about with the landscaping over Seebs' base can take it up with him. I'm not gonna be territorial about it. Also if someone could check in to make sure my goat's not been struck by lightning again that'd be cool. See you when I see you. :)

Alright so I think I might have tried mentioning this earlier but I don't think it got through because of chain disconnects. I've found out what the random crashes are about, but I'm not 100% sure how to fix it because I am tech illiterate.

Most crashes aren't as long as this and only include the bolded line. Is there some way to increase the memory assigned to java at all?

Edit: Also I think there are problems with the uncrafting table. I can't pick up the items created by uncrafting despite having the levels for it. Also the jerk thing is trying to give me flax for uncrafting string instead of silk wisps, /sob. Wisps are the most important thing!

Ah-hah! Yes, there is. There should be a setting for PermGen size in options, it's probably 256MB, it may need to be more, I think I've been using 384.

I tried setting the max memory a little higher and turned off some of the mods that were affecting the graphics on an obvious moment-to-moment basis (why do we even have two different minimaps?) and now it's on the tolerable side of unbearably laggy, so. That's something.

I have to keep my game window so small to be able to play at all (it triggers my motion sickness, weirdly enough) that I can't have either of the mini maps up because they take up so much of the screen! I can look into changing the max memory settings... but I don't know where to find that so it's going to require some digging. =p

max memory: "options" in the launcher. It currently starts as 4GB by default, it might want to be larger.
