That moment of 'wait how did Justice watch a cat video I don't think Thedas has youtube' made me blink at first, too. However, upon thinking about it, I have to concede that Anders probably would just manually set up a bunch of boxes and watch cats being adorable in them in his free time.

Like people have mentioned, Justice isn't exactly our go-to for moral righteousness, also, how is justice and only justice talking? are they in the fade? This is way too much of a somber conversation for Anders to be glowy. Also have they met Purple Hawke? The person who jokes about someone's son dying while he is holding his dead body? *sighs off into oblivion*
Also Justice DOES understand that sort of dark humor and uses it himself in Awakening, when he pretends to be self conscious about the fact that his body is rotting.
Mad all over again about that dumb post for them putting that half-assed, childish explanation in Merrill's mouth. She's not an idiot, she could explain it a LOT better than that.
yeah :/// Merrill is definitely on the long list of constantly misinterpreted or mischaracterized female characters. I think her misrepresentation by fandom stings more than others though because Merrill comes off as sooo autistic. And it feels like good genuine representation! She has struggles with people and getting things like innuendo, but she /wants/ to understand, she loves her friends, and has a developed sense of sexuality. She's a great example of how neurodivergence grants strengths as well as weaknesses, because she is just as determined and resourceful as anyone else in the party with even less support. She is also upfront with you about everything *side eyes my problematic mage husband* and is one of the better friends to Hawke. I JUST HAVE A LOT OF FEELINGS ABOUT MERRILL OKAY.
I am also still bothered by this because WOW JUSTICE IS SMARTER THAN THAT Like even IF he didn't have that sense of humor, he'd probably be able to pick up on the fact that this whole group--Hawke especially--tends to make this sort of joke! It's not a new thing! He'd be able to figure this out by then! It's not rocket science for fucks sake
