That one happened to me, too. Either lyric makes sense, imo.

EDIT: Also I just like the term "poisoned rationality".

 

OKAY SO
I CONTINUOUSLY misheard "Secret—AGEEEEENT MAN" from, well, "Secret Agent Man" as "Secret—ASIAAAAAN MAN" my friends and I made jokes about it (we were mixed/full asian)
and the probably well know "Blank Space" mishearing: "Gotta love these Starbucks Lovers" but I got to hear it as "Gotta love these starcross(ed) lovers" (actual line: "got a long list of ex-lovers")

As in her exes follow her around like spirits that won't leave.

What the emphasis makes it sound like:
"they haunt me,
like ghosts they want me"
As in ghosts also want to sleep with Elle King (although I wouldn't blame them) and this is frequent enough for her to make this comparison.
