yes mae is a cat who dropped out of college and commits CRIMES

 

So unusually colored hair, especially near-white on young people is a distrust button for Lav because unlike eye color or weird skin patterning it's a sign of being spirit-touched that's easy to spot. And people don't really care about telling spirit-touched apart.

So as a habit when another who looks even vaguely like her moves into the same area there are three options she considers: murder, fake death, and gtfo.

She knows she's not on Ethus anymore, and there are lots of different people from different places and someone who looks superficially like her may not be even the same manner of being, but the NOPE button has been pressed. :D

Mae's actually been pretty successful in her fightiness canonically. No wild trash can rages here though, nope. She's pretty pathetic at most everything else though.
