Well, I vote we use a rating system where we arrange symbols into groups and then put that on the board, it sounds much simpler.

I like useful and informative as well, I can see how both would be used in different contexts.

Just based on how much I've seen people using it already, I think Agree should stay.

Is there a way for mods to remove problematic ratings?

... You know what, let's add a "#problematic" rating. What could go wrong?
    Is also joke

We can in theory delete a rating, but we can't prevent people from re-adding them if they have access to the system at all.

I support keeping agree bc I've already used it almost exclusively over like, it's much more precise than like

Hugs (typed) aren't terribly intimate as an affectionate sentiment either, but just.... :( Can't affectionate gestures stick to actual responses to the thread? This also has the flavor of some actually touching me. It's the same with the other gestures where it'd be fine from some people, but really, really not from others. It might not have bothered me that much before this thread, but at this point people arguing for a button that lets them touch ("touch") me is super upsetting.

I like the idea of like/agree/witnessed/relatable as a set of reactions, but if four buttons is too many buttons I'd prefer agree over relatable.

I really like useful and informative. When people give me information I like being able to tell people in a shortcut way that their response has been helpful. I might elaborate after, but? I like the buttons.

Tbqh I like them partially because I know if people hit useful or informative on one of my posts I'd be happy.

(I haven't read this whole thread and don't know if someone has a serious issue with the buttons).

yeah that would help with the other issue from this change: communication chaos

like its not just a problem of what sets off what triggers, what can be opted into and out of, what the terms mean, which term is better for that meaning, etc. its also all of that combined into an overwhelming stew of sensory, brainbug, and boundry chaos

it would seem best to add one new term at a time, monitor the effects of each one for a while before adding another, and then evaluate if a new term is needed before starting the process again

in the short term we'll be loosing some functionality but regaining some sanity
especially since the forum change is Looming and already making people upset because of Change

BlackholeKG I saw you making fire

They sent me a weird incoherent insulting message today referencing stuff I said weeks ago. It's kinda weird that they're bothering and the style of communication is so strange, even for a troll. Find it hard to give much of a shit atm tho

  15. garden

    garden lucid dreamer

    my tiers are:

    must-have: like, witnessed
i'd really really like to keep this: agree
i like this but i won't be too bummed if it goes: informative (if only one of informative/useful goes, i'd prefer to keep informative bc that's the one i think applies more, but i don't really care which one we keep & i won't be bummed if they both go) ((eta: i don't really like the look of informful or usemative, tho they are funny))
    winner: winner

I kinda want to keep all of them. Useful, ironically, isn't very useful to me, but Like, Witnessed, Agree, and Winner are really important. Informative is somewhat useful, but not as much as those 4.
