  1. Secret Squirrel

    Secret Squirrel certainly something

I finally bothered to look this up!

"Nancy" Chapter 28 of Sideways Stories from Wayside School has forever shaped my concept of how binary trans people change their names. You find someone to trade with, then you spin around a hundred times in opposite directions until you fall down. That's just how it works.

    Oops!

Here's hoping this one works? It should go to a PDF of the whole book.

In one episode of The Looney Tunes Show, Sylvester asks if Tweety's a boy or a girl; Tweety whispers something to him, and he says "Huh. I was wrong." I like to imagine Tweety said "no".

Trans Girl Vriska. I don't even know much about her but I'm doing this exclusively out of spite because of some TERF blog.

I have never played a Zelda game or been in the fandom, but I'm watching a BOTW playthrough and Link seems like he could either be a trans dude or a trans lady. Also, headcanon that the Gerudo are extremely accepting of trans women. In the game, it seems like if you present as a woman, they see you as a woman.

Transman Logan, after seeing a post where someone pointed out that Logan is (actually) really short for a guy, he picked his own name, and his genetic clone is a little girl. I've seen good explanations for the first two (he's really, really old, so he was average height when he originally came of age; he's got repeated issues with amnesia, so he might not have remembered his original name or might not feel like it's his any more), but that last one - well. If you're making an exact clone of someone, they're not likely to suddenly switch which sort of junk they have, are they? In fact, you'd want to avoid that happening because who knows what else could happen if that sort of variance crops up; hormones play a pretty big role in how we develop, after all.

(Also, I like the idea of one of the reasons Logan is thankful for his adamantium bones is that he can bind as much as he wants, without worrying about fucking up his ribs; mastectomies aren't quite so much an option, when you've got a healing factor, after all.)

Don't know if this has been done before, but oh my god. Trans. Dave.
That is the only thing that I need in my life, to be honest. His insecurities and his internal problems stemming from his home life always translate to me as 'trying to be like bro by acting as COOL and MANLY as possible. Plus, the art for trans Dave is the best, ever.

Pedantic but the reason given originally for a girl logan was they werent able to get a complete genetic sample so she ended up xx instead of xy. Trans logan is pretty cool though and less handwavy, I like it.

  15. That would also explain why Logan seems so... aggressively masculine. makes sense enough.

  16. @turtleDove I would think masectomies would actually work if you did it quick enough, you'd just heal with scars much quicker? But then again if that were the case you could also get shitty complications (for humans you gotta have drains in place for the healing process).

And uuuh yeah if you didn't get the Y but somehow got the X you would be missing one half of a chromosomal pair, which is weird af. You would have to extract DNA from a cell that was chromosomally mutated, and therefore possibly cancerous or otherwise malformed within an otherwise... genetically functional human being I guess you would say?... and would be unlikely to make a stable human.

Laura was their 23rd try, would that make a difference in likelihood?

Not really. I think the authorial intent can be filed under "comic book writers don't understand science," but "Wolverine is trans" honestly makes it make a lot more sense.

...so idk if this works well or not, but.

Trans Asami Koizumi from Young Justice?

this pretty much came about from me finding out that her original mainstream counterpart was a guy, and... yeah. in universe she was a runaway for a while, and refused to tell anyone who her actual parents were, or go back home. so transphobic parents could line up with that alright.

    (am i doing this right?)
