Aww Wrench and Ray are friends now.

    "You're like a greasy, foul-mouthed Santa"
    "Ho ho fuckin ho"

Playing as Wrench is way too fuckin fun even if I keep dying because I suck at shootery shit in the full 3D. Once I get done blowing shit up for the fun of it I'll have to straight for the target.

Thing noticed in the post-Dusan endgame cutscene: Josh prefers his beer in cans. Everyone else has a bottle, he has a can. There's even a little bit where Marcus offers him a bottle and he looks a little hesitant/uncomfortable but Marcus looks so enthusiastic so he nods and reaches for it... and Marcus pulls a can from behind his back and plops it into Josh's hand. And he looks so relieved and they both laugh.

If anyone else is interested in the Shuffler stuff, there's a nice writeup over here from what the Reddit/Discord has managed to uncover. It's pretty interesting!

Ubisoft announced a new content schedule! (I am peeping those nonlethal weapons with INTENT.)

Also check that seamless PvE event and now I'm wondering if the whole SHUFFLER BUSINESS might have anything to do with that.

The Elite co-op missions are a BLAST and have their own ministory to them which is really cool. I feel like its a test run for a lot of the online content they hace coming up and I really hope they keep doing more stuff like it.

Ubisoft is going to be doing a spoiler stream for the No Compromise DLC at 10:00 am PDT on Thursday, April 13th! I'll probably post a link in here (even though I might be IN CLASS for the beginning of it ;_;) when it's near to starting, for anyone who wants to take a gander at it.

Someone on my dash a few months ago had tossed out the idea that Naomi (10Donuts girl that Wrench has a crush on) would be involved in the DLC because her last name is Jewish and the Bratva have strong ties to the Bay Area Jewish community. The spoiler livestream image has a woman with a similar hair style and what might be a mole, so she's similar looking enough to Naomi that they're REALLY interested to see if it turns out being true.

Tbh, so am I, because I'd love to see her get more development and focus as something other than "10Donuts girl"-- EVEN IF IT MEANS SHE'S A VILLAIN. Break my fucking heart, Ubisoft.

The air shotgun and stun sniper rifle are both free, which means starting new games after downloading No Compromise is a one way ticket to NO LONGER HAVING TO SNEAK AROUND TO STUN PEOPLE LIKE AN ANIMAL.

    I'm so goddamn happy.

I might have talked about Horatio being the resident Bad Movie King before but I'm talking about it more now. Between his job at Nudle, his convos with Marcus during the Cyberdriver mission, and some of his offhand mentions about his neighbor and stuff during the Haum mission, I think that he's a little more hipster than he wants to admit but firmly buries it under several layers of self-awareness. I want to say that he's the kind of guy who plays really awful video games and watched really awful Lifetime and SyFy movies-- but unlike Wrench (who loves them unironically) he's a little more invested in the humor factor of it all. Marcus sits between them in terms of ironic vs unironic enjoyment.

Horatio's big on the social engineering factor of hacking, though his code definitely isn't anything to sneeze at. I think that if Josh is the engineering and cryptography guy, Wrench is the weapons and demolitions guy, and Sitara's the face and the hands-on network hacking, then Horatio's the one who knows who to hit the hardest. He's got the insider info on Silicon Valley, and he's already said that he's the cat-herder; I just think that maybe he lets Sitara take on the front-facing leadership role because she's got the personality for it (and he's the only one of the five that has a real goddamn job.)
After the Nudle hack (and Horatio goes missing) you can see Dedsec get a lot more reactionary instead of making hits where they aren't expected. The data dumps, first from Nudle and then later from Blume's satellite network, end up informing almost all of their late-game missions. And they're really big missions, really important missions, but you can really see how post-Eye For An Eye they lose a lot of the fun for a little bit.

It might be partly because Ray's directing them at bigger, harder targets because of his thing against Blume, but I think it's also because without Horatio, Sitara's stuck on her own. Josh likes Ray, Marcus loves Ray, Wrench run hot and cold but tends to fall in line with Marcus more than Sitara and... Horatio's gone. Their other tactician is dead, without Horatio, Ray's their only insider source, and everyone's pretty vulnerable and feeling the need for vengeance with Horatio dead.

I mean, I'm pretty sure he was the founder of the SanFran chapter. He's the only member of Dedsec that even references the Council of Daves. Losing him was a huge fucking deal.

On a lighter note, I bet you that Wrench reads a lot. Wikipedia, old history books, the classics. He makes a lot of references to pop culture, but he also makes a fair amount of references to classical literature, and I could see him being the kind of guy to have like twenty books on Roman military campaigns stuffed up in his apartment for when he should technically be sleeping but he doesn't wanna and all his devices are low on battery.

He's also gotta have 50 million Gutenberg Projects bookmarked. Not just classic fiction but old scientific books and shit because the jump in perspective and common thought is a trip.
