I list a lot of undesirable colored dragons here: http://www1.flightrising.com/forums/baz/1187301/1 Coral is one of the "undesirable" colors!
@Keffy Oh, nice! If he doesn't sell through the usual channels I'll put him up there. In the meantime I have a lovely crystal swamp nocturne that no one seems to want to buy, even though he's really pretty, so I might try sticking him up there.
So. Poison and Toxic. Discuss. Personally I think they look hella. Also, hi antique, nice to see you in a gene preview!
I LOVE THEM They're so weird, I'm really enjoying that they're using accent colors that are going to encourage people to think about color combos a little more creatively, instead of going with the pretty simple/easy combos that tend to be popular. I also really like the patterning; it looks like a broken-up oil slick on water.
I'm genuinely surprised that magenta is on that list. The rest seem to make sense insomuch that the site seems to be pro-saturation/anti-ugly-ass-clashing-colours-as-counterpoint (violet), but... magenta? Seems out of place. Anyway, definitely thinking poison and toxic are interesting! I feel like there probably wont be many combos that work outside of having the same primary and secondary, though. Like I think it's telling that every dragon on display is a double. Who knows though. The pattern is great though, definitely more interesting than ripple/current. Midnight/shadow/coal are probably my favourites of those shown. I really want them to come out with ghost or point sometime soon, though :(
I don't think it is? These are previews to show off the genes, so it seems natural they'd use doubles so we can see how the accent colors work in these particular colors on both primary and secondary. They probably won't look good with both genes on x/y/whatever dragons, but I don't really see that as a problem, myself - it encourages creative thinking in matching up all the colors with genes that bring them together for the best effect. I bet semitsuga on tumblr is going to have a field day with these genes - she's really good at matching up colors and genes in a creative way and uses colors most people shun to really good effect.
I only say that because like... when you look at the previews or releases of other matching primary/secondary genes, they actually never do doubles (granted, I only went back to facet so it might not be 100% unheard of). Like, there's usually one or two that has 2 similar colours (vipera/hypnotic has grey/platinum, facet has steel/caribbean), but no doubles. The fact they've gone for doubles for every example of these genes says that it's going to be very, very difficult to make two different colours work together, imo. I don't think it's going to be impossible, though! It's just going to take a lot of creativity. That said, I think we are actually agreeing here so maybe responding wasn't necessary on my part, ha. I'm kinda looking forward to these on eyeburners though, I'd imagine the effect on the typical colours you see for those will be extremely blinding (in a good way).
Oh yeah, I meant to show this gal off - the sparklebaby I got from @Ruevian grew up gorgeous: I didn't have an accent that suited her, so I just decked her out in fancy apparel. Hopefully I'll snag a few more pearl teardrop items to further fancify her!
I am SUPER excited for these genes, I am going to have SO MUCH FUN in the workshop when they come out. Mercury, that dragons is BEAUTIFUL AND STUNNING.
Holy shit that's a pretty dragon. I especially like how the okapi makes her face look like a mask, sort of.
First glimmer nest: Mulberry/Aqua/Denim and Caribbean/Emerald/Steel Placed in AH for some ridiculous price just in case it's still early enough for expensive glimmer babies.
Oooh, they're lovely. I like glimmer so much, but all the dragons I have that could have used a gene change mostly didn't look good with it, and the ones that looked good with it had a mate with a treasure gene tert I didn't want to change. I ended up putting glimmer on a dragon I'm probably not ever going to even breed - turns out x/green/blue mates are hard to come by. :') I have a double mulberry pair I'm pretty strongly considering putting it on, though. Glimmer mulberry looks so good.
Yeah, I was going to gene up my XXX caribs, but they look better with gem than glimmer, so I let aesthetics beat out my desire to have THE MOSTEST EXPENSIVESTEST DRAGONS
Ok, I have a second nest, which means I'm currently trying to sell 6 XXX caribbean coatls, crystal/facet/gembond like so: I tend to price them high because they sell eventually, but if anyone wants one of the new baby nest for 100kt, I have 2 females and 1 male. All disgustingly pretty. If want, send me a CR in game, username: Nehyl
Okay, so can anyone explain to me what the dang deal is with new colors? You can't select them to search in the AH or see how they look in the Scrying thing, so is it just not implemented yet or am I missing something?
