fasr is now underlined and i'm not sure whether i need to be worried about my computer's spellchecking or my eyes that i didn't see a red squiggle line under it. i'm gonna blame my stomach and go get some food.

Ye, i almost put it in the weepy marshmallow thread because i teared up. If it had been me idve been looking up like, lobster care b/c it would be part of the family at that point. Id also not have bought a lobster in the first place though because im allergic AND a weenie about killing my own food but thats beside the point i guess.

So my roommate had a medical appointment at this place, two hours away, that I drove us to, taking the day off to ensure we could get here on time.

Turns out roomie's super duper professional doctor didn't send the lab reports necessary for this place to do the appointment.

We, not knowing this, got here an hour so roomie could drop off paperwork in advance.

It took until the time of the appointment for anybody to go "gee, where are those lab reports we need to authorize the thing?"

So we achieved exactly 0% of the intended purpose of the visit. That was cool.

That's a really good article. Other than the chronic pain, I feel very much the same way. What are spoons? How do I count them? Why are they so squishy?

yeah i have trouble wrapping my head around spoon theory sometimes too, and its near impossible to describe to others. i usually just tell people i'm out of can, as in "can you do this thing?" to which i might reply "i cannot" because my ability to can is not there.

For me it's like driving with the parking brake on, and sometimes it's on harder than others. Yes I could go, but it takes more effort, burns more gas, and grinds my gears. I can punch through it with a concerted effort, but the difficulty is high and it often leaves me more tired after.

For me it's especially complicated because while sometimes doing thing when the feeling of Cannot is present just exhausts me more, but other times it incredibly increases my ability to do further things??

I often sit at my desk at work and try to Do Thing, and end up spending hours on forums because it's easier. If I can start Doing Thing it often gets easier as I go until I need a break.

The Mighty has some useful articles on a number of things. I go there for the Crohn's/ulcerative colitis/IBD stuff mostly, but that discussion of spoons definitely resonated with me.

    "he-LO-wa? helowa, helowa?"

the birbs do not reply, because i'm usually in my car at the time
