My mom brought home a purple cauliflower from the food bank today and im losing my fucking mind over it. Its purple??? Amazing! It's apparently naturally that color too what the fuck its so cool. Ive never even heard of anything but white cauliflower

 

Cauliflowers come in lots of colors! There are yellow, orange, and spring green ones too.

You can also make "mashed potatoes" from cauliflower. Cook it, mash it up, and some butter, garlic, salt and pepper and people won't notice it's different.

 

So on the machining forum, where most users are pretty republican, someone started a "slow forum" thread and someone mentioned posting bikini pics. So I figured I'd troll them and posted one, followed by about a screen's worth of empty space, followed by the revelation in very large letters that the hot chick in the pic is genetically male.

I'm disappointed I didn't get more of a rise out of them, but also pleased. One of them commented "he has a nice rack." I think they're becoming less bigoted.

Yessss it is very tasty, the texture is different but not bad! A very nice side dish.

Eta: no, broccoli and cauliflower have different edible flesh.

 

People keep saying this, but I seriously doubt this claim because cauliflower has a very, very distinct taste...

 

When I've had mashed cauliflower the taste and texture have been pretty distinctly different from mashed potatoes, but it tastes good with gravy, chicken, green beans, etc. so I find it an acceptable substitute.

 

That's where we're different then, because I hate cauliflower ><
