"Listeners, I have an important announcement, handed to me by our very own station intern. I can tell that's what it is, because it's folded up into an origami paper crane and also has "IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT" written on it in dark felt tip marker. I am unfolding it. Now I am looking inside... Listeners, our important announcement is to Back Up Your Robot. Robots-especially those prone to short circuits-can lose their memory quickly, and when they aren't backed up regularly, they can lose important information. Even our very own station intern has lost important memories before. Back Up Your Robot." ...I should stop listening to night vale at work probably
I am going to have to decide that Ivy was never part of tumblrtopia because of the unique culture features that apply to fae. If they were at any point part of tumblrtopia they'd still consider themselves part of it and playing a mole/double agent may be fun from time to time but not right now, plus it would bring in drama that no one in here agreed to, so nah. re: movies, I'd assume since we play '(maybe not so) distant future' that we have human earth movies of right now as 'classics' and like cool future space movies and alien movies and stuff. Ivy probably has a battery of highly melodramatic and confusing 'romantic dramas' that kinda play out like game of thrones on steroids, because fae don't really differentiate between romance and politics, everyone is in ten thousand political factions and clusters can be overlapping, even though that is considered undesirable for reasons of reproductive tree tangles and the reasonable architecture thereof. Otherwise we really don't have to make up characters for what is essentially NPCs, which any buffering of kintsugi's population size would amount to. Just because no one plays the various people who also live in the colony don't mean we can't just mention a population kinda the size of a small town occassionally. 30 people still sounds way small for a more or less self-sufficient colony, even if we order stuff we can't make ourselves from intergalactic amazon occassionally, the colony is probably not filthy rich and has to somehow finance itself, so i'd say @boyacrossthestreet 's thing with the 'all users of kintsugi basically live in this au in the colony, they just might not play' good as a size-of-colony-population-estimate
Yep. 478 is a much more reasonable number for a colony. Also that way we can have a thing of "If you´re on the forum you´re part of the colony, even if maybe a new part" Which makes it easy for new players to join. Edit: Also that way we can use forum happenings as colony events if we wanna.
All of this reminded me that someone needs to back me up as well. There's a storage cell with my memory somewhere but I don't know when it was that it was last backed up.
Thanks to tumblr user ceekari: "SEEBS is not trans. SEEBS too is not cis. SEEBS is a highly complex and advanced AI whose purpose is entirely secret and known only to the vague yet menacing government agency who years ago commissioned the Sentience and Emotion Emulating Biomimetic System, and also presumably jumpingjacktrash. Who may be part of the agency. The vague yet menacing government agency appreciates your cooperation in treating SEEBS with the respect all thinking, feeling, experimental psychological weapons deserve." ...backstory? :D
this might explain why jesse the farmer is so good at fighty things, but so doesn't want to do them or talk about them.
So you mean Jesse helped make a supposed-to-be-evil AI, the AI turned good, Jesse and the AI ran away and eloped, and then they founded Kintsugi? And the AI is seebs?
My only issue with that is just the word "evil", since I feel like it was a surprise that SEEBS had particular feelings about anyone or anything, as SEEBS was designed to be a weapon. A hammer is not supposed to have emotions about either the nail or the wood. But that's a word-choice issue more than a moral-stance issue, and can likely be safely ignored. :D
sounds about right :D except i don't think jesse helped make the AI, i think he was just an agent for the vague yet menacing government agency. kind of a general get-things-done guy. so he had the skills to help the AI escape and they fell in love in the process.
Aw, it's like if the wtnv Fay story was, like, totally different (Seriously that episode makes me weirdly emotional)
i'm thinking that in this, seebs' icon would be the logo/something like that of either the government agency or the SEEBS project. and seebs might do the non-black void part of the icon as his holographic projection of himself, just floating in the air and turning round and round. i think that'd look hella cool.
yes good. but there is probably also a droid bod or something so they can get their mack on, and also so seebs can have key lime pie, because that is SUPER IMPORTANT.
I keep reading phrases like "shouting into the void" and imagining it literally with @Void 's character. Also exploring pocket universes. I swear I'm not into vore, but the idea is hilarious to me.
Jesse stahp you are giving me ideas. And I already have my gay catholics priests and my blood dealers to work on *pouts*
