...I didn't realize that I did a homestuck until you mentioned it.
It's bizarre enough that I wouldn't say it's out of place during a Homestuck intermission

The red sweat reminded me so much of "battle sweat" in Beowulf, which is a kenning for blood, that it only just occurred to me that I'd been envisioning him wiping blood from his hat.

 

Surprise danger, much worse than the usual unsurprising kind of danger.

 

i admit i was not aware that there was a man known for Chicken Yodeling till earlier, but then I found this (and another video with the dude) while hunting for a sound-clip and my world was enlightened.

I am watching E (second wives club) and good grief are these people bad a communicating for people who are supposedly adults. They are like the worst bunch of stereotypical high school girls.

Can someone explain me the avocado toast meme? Are avocados... actually expensive somewhere, or did someone just say something stupid and it caught on?

 

They're not cheap around here, though they're not luxury-priced either. I'm not familiar with the meme though.

 

I think it's the combo of avocado toast being a "kids these days" thing (avocados being not cheap, they've had a relatively recent surge in popularity) and someone saying something stupid about it.

 

Some moron wrote an article about how millennials will never be able to afford houses because they spend their money on avocado toast. It spread from there into other memes and has been mocked relentlessly. It's also being mocked IRL by food places that serve avocado toast. (I do not have the links with me right now, sorry)
