...I can buy avocados for 69 cents apiece when they're in season. Is this guy talking about eating out a lot, or...? Because you gotta get fat in your diet from somewhere and avocados have the good fats while not being as expensive as, say, fish.

I'm pretty sure what those kinds of articles really are is people trying to find fun and interesting new ways to say 'I have never shopped anywhere but speciality rich people stores in my life, and also the last time I checked what a house costs was no less than several decades ago'.

Apparently they can run as high as seven dollars in parts of Australia, which is pretty high but also like... not actually something you would ever be able to buy a house on. Assuming you do buy avocados every day of your life and you wouldn't spend that money on other food items if you cut them out, you'd be able to afford a house in...... 60 years! Gosh, just think of those savings, y'all.

Yeah. In this kind of economic argument, avocados are being used as a symbol of splurging; the argument assumes they're one of many extraneous expenses that could be easily cut back if only we had the foresight and willpower.

Somebody made an edit to the dril post about balancing family budget, substituting avocados for candles, and it was beautiful.

i think the only millennials on kintsugi that go to europe every year are the ones that live there

and like, that's with a very generous definition of "going" 'cause they are, well, already there :P

Aka I went food shopping while waiting for a roomie to finish an errand, and decided to do my part for the millennial cause while I was there

But wait if the UK brexits does that mean I no longer go to Europe every year, or does it still count because technically we're still part of the continent even though we're an island?

I left Europe once in my life, when i was newborn and my parents showed me off to my paternal grandparents in the US. I go to Europe all year every year, clearly the housing market is entirely my fault.

I'm so confused with the generations. Am I GenX? Am I millennial? I have no fucking clue.

(I know I could easily look it up but I am content being in a state of unknowing)
