-whine- But I want a mooovie.... (though yeah seriously rec acknowledged I will check out an audiobook of it next time I have monies)
Puffball: the devils eyeball is the least scary title for a horror movie ever. I have no idea what's happening in this movie. All I know is I'm probably going to spend most of my time in the shudder.tv part of the app. Takes less energy to let the app pick movies for me, instead of trying to pick them out myself.
-slides this across the table- Like fuck I'M watching this, but I figured this thread might be interested >_>;;;
im kind of like HMMM about pennywise's design because it seems more "intentionally scary clown" than "clown and that is why it's scary" but on the other hand trailers do tend to highlight that sort of thing incorrectly. i'd have to see the movie to make a full judgement but alas, i am a weenie boy and fear It
Yeah, I was kinda meh about this before because Tim Curry will always be Pennywise in my heart but shit son I am on board now Plus it's gonna be reeeeeeeal interesting to see an adaptation that isn't bound by broadcast TV decency standards.
oh shit that's a really good point. it's been a Very long time since I read the book or watched the movie, but since it's king, uh, I vaguely imagine there's some more than slightly fucked shit also I'm not gonna lie I am pretty excited for the new ways they're gonna be able to actually film. there were things back then that just weren't possible that are child's play nowadays
It was pretty fucked up in a lot of ways. I am curious to see how they handle some of it. Is it just me, or does Beverly (may be getting her name wrong, oops) look older than all the guys? Might have to read the book again. SK is one of my ultimate somewhat guilty-pleasure authors.
ey, Youtuber I like did another video about the Scary, specifically about Perfect Blue which despite being fucking hard to watch, I have indeed watched in its entirety (rare for me, given that I am Enormous Weenie) enjoy :V
I knew what those were right away before I read the spoiler, ahaha. Benefits of having grown up around lots of the little beasties. :D They do look creepy though, dang.
Yeah it looks like a bunch of demonic baby hands going "GIVE US YOUR SOUL - oh nevermind these crunchy things will do, more please"
Now I want to write a thing about a witch keeping ghosts or imps or something. Spoiler: writing rambling I mean I had a character who attempted making homunculi (failed on the 'homun' part; they were gloopy amorphous things) and, in a hurry and out of food, opened a vein to feed them. Turned them into hyper-territorial loyal little beasties that attacked anyone who isn't her. She keeps them as guards for her "no seriously, this shit is cursed as FUCK vault." Giving them other people's blood doesn't do anything, they still try to kill them.
fun game: make a silent hill au for your ocs, accidentally unnerve yourself Spoiler: creepy body horror a sentinel that isn't too dangerous on its own if you stay in its diagonals, but its gunfire can alert other monsters and if its light is shined on you youll be stunned briefly based around my ocs time in the army, and how trapped and without control over his choices he felt
That reminds me of the SH dream I had this morning, set in an abandoned boarding school. I was desperately searching for a save point because if I didn't find one, I couldn't wake up (apparently I was aware I was dreaming?).
When we lived in a satelite town near a big city in the US, we sometimes had to take these winding back roads to get to where we needed to. There was a school out there. Maybe abandoned, maybe not. The sign still had lettering in it, but the parking lot was always empty (although we always went out there in the afternoon or on the days when school was cancelled cause of the fog). The windows were old and really dirty. There were no lights on. It was one of those eerie landmarks you find in that part of the country. I was always curious about that though. Why was it in the middle of nowhere? Was it open? If not, why wasn't it blocked off? I wanna go back and explore!
I still consider it one of the great failures of my life that there was an abandoned hospital within a few minutes walk of my house and I didn't get to exploring it before it was demolished :|
