Spoiler His slow heartbeat and lack of need to eat seem to suggest it. Lion is implied to be like 200 years old at least, and even if he's only been around since shortly before Steven was born, that's still 14 years which seems to be pretty old for a lion.

so ok rhodonite is a pearl+ruby. so if the crystal gem's garnet unfused, and that ruby fused with cg pearl, she'd be a rhodonite, right? and if the off color rhodonite fused with padparascha sapphire, forming a pearl+ruby+sapphire, she'd become a sardonyx... .right? MAN it would be cool to see different fusion gems as well as just different gems, a totally different sardonyx or opal or garnet.
