Heh, that reminds me of something.
I really like the idea that Sans was thinking of Gaster when he expressed familiarity with somebody who doesn't know when to quit. Papyrus quits some things, like newspaper puzzles and things that might kill the human. Sans quits some things, like whatever he'd been doing with the machine and hoping for the future.

Official Japanese translation of the game means pronouns, and so far we've learned what Sans uses.
    oira.
Which apparently gives off a similar impression as y'all, a rural vibe sometimes used for comedic effect. Good for a guy who doesn't take himself seriously, who doesn't want to be taken seriously.

i wonder if it changes at all during spoopy snas lines, ie the ones with the different font, boss fight dialogue (altho iirc he was mostly laid back in that? Guh how do i phrase things. He was still projecting an attitude that he wasnt Bothered? So maybe he would keep up with the doofy pronoun)

Also while we're all here, Undertale is getting a PS4/Vita release, and there's a Collector's Edition with a physical copy, soundtrack, sheet music, 24 page booklet by Temmie Chang, and a heart-shaped locket containing a music box which plays His Theme. Which I need.

Honestly I really hope it's only on the different font lines, if at all. The contrast of what's going on and the way he (for most of it) talks is great. It's important to me he doesn't turn into a sudden magical badass (that's Undyne's schtick). He gives us a few sick burns, absolutely, ("Burning in hell") but mostly he's still making jokes and talking like he's just this guy, ("huh, i always wondered why people don't just use their strongest attack first") sweating nervously pretty much the whole fight and possibly still wearing pink slippers.

that last line is making me imagine sans getting out a pair of barely-worn sneakers out from somewhere and badassly slipping them on before the fight, complete with slow-motion and everything. like, it's business time so no more slippers for him!

yep. and any idea you've had has likely been had by someone else.

  15. Of course, that part applies to literally everything. There are no original ideas left. It's sad.

yep. but the originality/newness/whatever of ideas is also a spectrum, and some ideas are more on one end of that spectrum than the other.

I'd say even a big fandom like Undertale has a lot of stones left unturned. Mostly with characters people don't pay as much attention to. I am in pain about not getting the kind of fic I want with certain characters lol.

Sans gets a lot of attention. He is... well examined.

    yeah, true.

it just felt weird, making that shitpost and then discovering that pretty much that post had already been made and drawn on tumblr and that swirl could link us to it.

I mean, there's a good portion of the fandom that's very about undressing Sans. A lot of attention to put to the question of just what he's wearing.

...I just noticed, Sans and Papyrus are still wearing the same stuff in the tp credits, but the other main characters aren't. Toriel and Asgore are in other outfits entirely, and Alphys and Undyne are in beach wear.
