Spoiler: ep. 7 My heart was warmed by Tucker's reaction when he thought Caboose and the others were hurt. Not really sure how to feel about Unicorn Man's real identity. And I can't help but feel like Dylan's AI is going to be very relevant at some point, they keep on mentioning it but not letting us meet it.
Spoiler: ep 7 yep. if she hadn't said it was a dumb ai and truth wasn't her thing, i'd have guessed that, in a night shamalynish (however you spell his name) twist, it will turn out to be church. realistically, though, it might be vic or sheila/f.i.l.l.i.s or some ai we've never met before.
Spoiler: episode 7 oh my god i can't believe unicorn man is a lawyer he's only the most edgelord-aesthetic lawyer i've ever seen also, snerk, temple. &&, yes, that conversation between caboose and simmons... gotta keep tugging on my heartstrings don'tcha
Spoiler: episode 7 i wonder if the reveal of unicorn man not being as ominous as he seemed is them making fun of felix and locus and how they were introduced. unicorn man definitely reminded me of felix, aesthetic-wise. like if it was a joke about how those two were watching ominously and mysteriously over the reds and blues at the start of the chorus arc. like, about how after that, a dramatic villain is what we expect when we see someone being like that. season 15 certainly does like going for meta (heh) jokes/commentary on the series as a whole, with dylan literally watching the entire blood gulch arc, dylan doing washington's journey at the start of season 6 all over again, grif questioning why church always comes back, the knockoff reds and blues... so yeah...
Spoiler: episode 8 congrats, tucker, you summed it the fuck up there it is really weird my mind is fucked and keeping track of who is who was practically impossible. temple, dylan and jax were the only ones whose identities i was completely sure of the whole time - and that's only 'cause they had no counterparts to be confused with. i like how bucky hinted that tucker might be gayer than he's willing to admit. though bucky's name, thanks to the wonders of avengers shipping, had me looking for a steve rogers to ship him with. :P and i'm wondering if temple has church's backstory or not, if there was a director temple with thematically named agents and ais. how deep the rabbit hole goes. and i'm definitely planning on rewatching the ep with closed captioning on youtube next week so i can understand it better and be less mindfucked. telling what caboose and loco were saying was really hard, and the captions might clear up confusion around which character is which with the duplicates. and i'm sure that there will be (not-exactly)-selfcest fic/art as a result of this ep.
Spoiler: episode 9 the lighting in the scene with temple and tucker made it really hard for me to tell them apart. and i'm lowkey shipping tucker/temple now. hahahaha that's so church of him, the way he just like... you know, the feelings, the... it's hard to explain, really, but i saw that scene of him admiring tucker and it reminded me of church's thing with tex. not entirely but like.... and the thing temple said about being used hints that he maybe has a tragic backstory too... and the blues and reds were the first, not the reds and blues. a prototype. huh. and i think surge liked his pseudo-grif. that, or he felt the same way about him that sarge feels about grif and ended up really disappointed once he got what he wanted. either way, the absence of pseudo-grif definitely seems like it might be an angst thing.
Spoiler: episode 10 temple has a lot of omega in him, personality-wise. he's not omega but he does show what you might get if church embraced that side of himself more. with a side of gamma and/or sigma too, since he's a lot more subtle in his tactics than omega is. i mean, he's not them either but he has something of them in him. fragments, you know? i wonder who exactly temple actually is, considering that he apparently knew carolina and was deeply hurt by her. alpha? epsilon (somehow)? some other fragment of the director who we never knew about? a son of the director and allison who we never knew about? carolina's son who we never knew about? and i wonder what carolina did to him. and church's ice motifs! it's cool seeing that element associated with him again here. just wow, this episode did not turn out at all like i expected it to.
Spoiler: episode 11 temple is trying to build a bomb and looking up how to be evil (or, well, i dunno who is doing the second one but it seems to be temple's computer) and dylan's ai is vic! and something connected to temple is also vic! (*stingy voice* ~the floor and ceiling are vic/all your feelings are vic/you always knew it/that's all there is to it/it's vic, vic, vic, vic, vic~) i dunno what, though. it would be logical to assume that vic is an ai that's on the computer already, or maybe vic is temple or the church in the message...
Spoiler: ep. 11 My sibling and I were speculating that Vic could be another fragment of Church, since he said that he was on the computer and then mmediately played the (I'm now assuming fake?) message from Alpha. It doesn't seem very likely to me, but I've got no idea what IS going on, so.
Spoiler: episode 11 i could see it. after all, how would anyone know that he wasn't? like, could they tell the difference if they looked at his code or something, would they have to be there from his very beginning to confirm that he isn't church, or would there be a paper trail (which can be faked) saying when and how a dumb ai was created? how would they know? and would the director and/or a fragment of him be honest about this when putting vic into things? and vic's suicidality does seem like something a church fragment would have, considering that church: - had a whole song about how he wants to die - attempted suicide as epsilon in washington's brain - done the heroic sacrifice thing at least twice (though one time he legit he didn't think he'd die) - the Director killed himself imma check if there are any greek letters that start with v ... hmmm... phi might sound like vic but i don't see any also i'm loling at upsilon. upsilon. it sounds like epsilon's knock-off twin. hahaha. maybe temple's upsilon.
i let my rt first membership lapse so i have yet to see episode 11, but wow, just got caught up and. Spoiler: episode 10 wow, temple, that is nasty. also, impressive. also, who is he, that he worried carolina would recognize him? definitely interesting.
Spoiler: episode 10 that scene had a real incredibles vibe to it, actually. reminded me a lot of the scene where mr. incredible is discovering what's happened to all the other superheroes who have come to the island (ie. death).
Spoiler: episode 12 blues and reds backstory! hahaha, they have the same kinds of antics going on that the reds and blues used to. well, not exactly since no one's died yet and there weren't any freelancers but yeah... and grif's counterpart! biff! and he's friends with temple - childhood friends, which i guess proves that temple is not an ai. and so those two both know that system is bullshit, that the people they are supposed to be fighting aren't really their enemies. and biff wants to go home to be with georgina and i think that really breaks temple's heart. temple doesn't want him to go but he'll help anyway. i wonder how things will go wrong. will temple accidentally kill biff? will freelancer find out what's up? will biff get replaced with freelancer if he's killed or goes on medical leave?
Spoiler: ep. 12 My sibling and I were talking about it after the episode, and I'm pretty sure that some Freelancers are about to come in for a training exercise, and during it, Carolina is going to kill Biff. It seems like the Blues and Reds already know all about Temple's plan, seeing as they were standing right there while he monologued. I had been assuming that they were at least somewhat in the dark, given how well they were getting along with their counterparts. Though I guess if they only hold a grudge against the Freelancers proper then there's no reason for them to hate the BGC.
Spoiler: episode 12 you know what would be really tragic if biff got killed protecting temple from carolina
Spoiler: ep. 12 haha oh man yes that would be delicious sort of a reverse sharkface, one guy dies and the whole team goes on a revenge rampage
HAHAHA Spoiler: ep 8 am watching ep. 11, and, i literally just got the joke re: loco's name. i at first thought it just meant "crazy" but no, it's short for locomotive! as in the opposite of caboose! this was probably very obvious but it still took me several episodes to get it Spoiler: ep 11 :( indeed, vic
Spoiler: episode 12 yep. though it does feel like the revenge rampage was mostly temple's idea. Spoiler: episode 8 i think it could easily be both meanings, actually, considering that he is caboose's counterpart and on a revenge rampage. :P
Spoiler: episode 13 the director!!!! holy shit the director!! and carolina's aching for some action! so, shelly is their sheila. nice. and doc was there. i guess that's how he knew they were the first. i did not expect the harry potter audio book. tex killed biff - wow, i didn't expect that. and "this not about you!" fucking brutal, carolina, fucking brutal. i mean, spearing biff with the blue flag was fucking brutal too but way to salt the fucking wound, woman. and georgina is pregnant, that's why biff wanted to leave so bad. and temple is so hesitant and so heartbroken. so hesitant that he didn't do it at all. temple's first name is mark. huh. and that ending. whoa. the story's not even over - awesome! and the director designed the blood gulch crew based on the composition of the desert gulch crew - that's why they are eerily similar. i wonder if this means that the director saw the similarities between himself (and/or alpha) and temple. if that was why what he was thinking about when he decided to place the alpha in blood gulch.
continuing with my one-episode-behind reactions... Spoiler: episode 12 yeahhh i'm gonna guess bad things are gonna happen to biff, and it'll be a freelancer's fault, possibly one we know. ...ALSO THIS MAKES THE WHOLE "GRIF WANTS OUT" THING EVEN WORSE/MORE ALARMING BECAUSE BIFF WANTED OUT OF THE WAR BULLSHIT (/ BULLSHIT WAR) AND CLEARLY SOMETHING BAD HAPPENED TO HIM TO MAKE TEMPLE GO ON REVENGE RAMPAGE grif had better not die this season or i am gonna be >:(
