I've seen variants of it on TV Tropes as well.

 

I don't know what thread to bring this to, but have a neat interview article from 2015 between poet Richard Siken and interviewer Adam Carlson about fanfiction. I'm still in the hand gesturing stage of digesting it. The transformative power, the reflective distortion and gain and loss that comes with fan creations (first thought to mind, Undertale, and how much of the tags on Tumblr are full of content with little to do with the game I played).

I got this baby off Amazon; it took a few weeks to arrive but by god was it worth it. Love the color, beautifully weighted, actual metal all the way through unlike the flimsy plastic ones pretending to be metal and failing miserably. Spins like a dream. Actually came in its own little semi-padded case!!! 10/1o highly recommend.

I was immediately compelled to go to Wikipedia to verify this claim. According to the Skeletor article, that bit of origin story was established in a 2002 series.

I enjoyed their explanation of Skeletor's role in the show:

I think that's probably one of my subconscious measures of whether I should immediately jump bodily upon a new fandom and cling for dear life. How ridiculous you could potentially sound if you explained the drama matter of factly?

Would it be good material for a Jay and Miles style cold open? (In which Miles poses a question about something regarding the X-Men that has a particularly ridiculous answer. Jay, whom they have determined is better at talking fast, will quickly explain in some depth. It often starts out fairly reasonable, but inevitably ends with a giant fish-monster who hungers for power. Or you know, something like that. Then Miles, who they have determined is better at yelling in surprise, will yell "WHAT???") If so, I am already halfway convinced to sign the fuck on the dotted line.

Probably don't work either; seed kit bonsais defeated my mom, who is usually amazing at growing things. It's best to buy a sapling or young adult bonsai tbh. If you're lucky they'll be like my mom's tea tree bonsai and be very determined to multiply! we have like 10 of them now
