...Also, they're a literal fucking infant, and I'd think raising a child to be ~*completely genderless*~ would like...actually have the potential to fuck them up if they end up being literally anything other than nonbinary, which, statistically speaking, they most likely will. (And that's not even getting into the fact that a person's biological sex is actually gonna be relevant when it comes to things like basic medical treatment...)

I do not trust this parent and naming their child Searyl is only part of why for once. :/

I would like to believe their intentions are necessarily... bad, and I'm not qualified to speak about the legal side of the broader issue in an informed way, but I think there are less extreme ways to go about raising a child without pushing them into strictly gendered boxes
There's a possibility the child will be ostracized by their peers and/or feel othered as a result of being raised to belong to neither group, not to mention be confused about their body...
The way of thinking of that parent seems overly idealistic... at best.

I feel like the best way to child is raise them as the gender you think they are, and if they go "hey parent am not (gender)" you go "cool"

It would be cool if going "we will just do whatever without putting the kid into a gender box until like age 3 or 4" was acceptable. Let the kid play with whatever, try to curb the early gender biases on the part of adults caring for them if thats possible lol (like, "oh this is A Boy Child," cue less efforts to comfort crying babby because Boys R Tough(tm))

but raising the kid as a gender that they arent has been demonstrated to be Bad

Anyway, i just saw a post on facebook saying Rennett is a cute alternative to Bennett. Rennet, meanwhile, is a thing you get from cow stomachs to help make cheese. Name your child Milk Coagulator

I need to get back to work but im just looking thru the comments on this post to find names

Someone says she just made up her daughters name so i wont post it bc shes probably easily googled. But its possibly pronounced DALL uh nee? Duh LAY nee?

Someone else came up with Canzas and an equally odd middle name but that once again probably means its best not to like create search results for their name

Someones kids middle name is Joylayah. Another has either a middle name or 2 part name with the second part as... Tityn. Probably pronounced Titan but it just looks like you made tit into a verb. Tittin'

Edit: ....Tidus. they say its literally after the final fantasy character

Edit: NO someone named their son Tsunami. Here is my child he will destroy coastal cities

Considering Tidus's family, someone did not think through what that implies about them.

The nameberry forum is a place where you can get from weirded out to terrified by what names people consider acceptable or "swoon worthy"

A small comfort is that a lot of those people put together those ridiculous combos for the hell of it, but you do have parents wanting to name their kid "Athalie Lorelei" or "Arden Odessa", using "Hattie" or "Lottie" as full names for girls who will eventually become grown women having to apply for jobs, and so on

Looking at the main site's top bar of the "currently searched" is also often a trip, once I saw Kermit there - so not only someone was considering it, but when I clicked through to their description the site was actually arguing for the use of it, too

Meanwhile, they condemn simple names like "Cheryl" because... fashion, I guess?

I fucking LOVE trawling those forums. So goddamn extra.

EDIT: And some of the ones in that specific thread would be good if you chopped off a superfluous second middle name! Sylvia Pearl and Cordelia Rose are quite pretty IMO, but those extra middle names just...ruin them. :(
