...why. I like ketchup, but it does not belong on noodles.

Also, ew, plain noodles. Buttered noodles are great, as is butter + garlic or olive oil + garlic, or really any herbs/spices. Or old bay. Old bay tastes good on everything.

 

Sounds pretty tasty to me, tbh, but I am a pretty substantial ketchup fiend

Speaking of ketchup and noodles; opinions on mixing ketchup into Mac n cheese?

If I have ketchup already on my plate (usually my family would make sausage with Mac so that was often) I'll put just a bit of ketchup in a few bites of my Mac cause it is a unique and nice flavor, but i prefer most of my mac ketchupless

 

I dont eat mac n cheese much because of dairy issues, but i usually drench it in mustard if anything

 

The only valid ketchup/noodle combination is if it's ketchup with baked macaroni and cheese.

(and tbh bbq sauce is better even then)

 

The only ketchup i like is when its on a meatloaf. Something about oven baking it makes it good

 

Okay, but: buttered noodles, except it's ghee instead of regular butter

 

On the subject, mom gives me grief about having hot dogs with ketchup and mustard. I prefer mustard and onions, but if we don't have any onions I like ketchup on them.

(Also Chicago dogs are good without the tomato)

 

I like plain noodles but usually put butter substitute on them if I'm not having sauce. Personally, I would not want just ketchup on noodles, sounds texturally bad.

 

I would just do garlic and oil tbh. As a kid though, I used to eat ketchup sandwhiches, though I don't think I could manage that anymore.

 

We used to do ketchup sandwiches too! My sister will honestly put ketchup on nearly everything.

Cool fact about ketchup spaghetti, apparently it dates back as far as the great depression, as it was a cheaper substitute than real spaghetti

 

Also theres this apparently? Seems only loosely related, and i wonder if the ketchup used is a one to one with american ketchup

 

Confession time, I've never had mac and cheese.

It's alright. Not great. Kraft mac'n'cheese is good with boiled eggs chopped in, but still pretty Meh.

Baked mac and cheese can be really good though, and we made one with like four different cheeses + grilled onions once that was fantastic.

 

okay, so I've done pretty much all of these ketchup things, but instead of ketchup I use sriracha

 

it's only as good as the cheese you use, so the powdered mix stuff from the store is pretty meeehhhhhh but if you make it yourself it's divine
