I pray they get banned. Like not even for that necessarily, but I'd rather they just not be allowed to play.

 

We were in a game last night with a Widowmaker who was ridiculously good at landing headshots, which would have been more of a problem if we didn't have the world's most intuitive Genji who managed to deflect every single one she fired at him (and two she fired at me.)

I have never felt more gleeful and useless in a game.

me stuck basically in spawn because every time I go out to heal my team I am insta killed
me having to plan out my jump paths very carefully so that I don't throw myself into death
me having to deal with her slightly buggy glide all the time
me having to prioritize targets carefully so that no one dies
me having to hold my ult because I don't let people die often and I have to prioritize if a 1 to 2 person rez is worth it.

As someone who is trying very hard to do a lil DPS nowadays, I think the main reason people are upset about Mercy is cause she's by far the hardest support to goddamned kill. Some Mercys don't really take advantage of her proper like and they're easy to kill, but the people who understand how to juke and use cover and shit are tanky as all hell and can make it absurdly difficult to get anything done. Ana is like this too, but if her team isn't paying attention to her, she's easy to dive and shank. And a rez can just plain undo a lot of the work you just did. And it's not like the skills you use with her tend to track well to other characters, so it's easy to miss what kinda effort you gotta put in to play her well.

It'll die down at some point. Maybe. I mean, every hero that annoys you is easy to play and unjustly rewards unskilled players. That's just how this kinda shit goes. Apparently they're working on reworking her, so. Mostly her ult, i think. That's what annoys people. An easy sorta change could be that her ult makes everyone in range invulnerable for a few seconds, which would mean less hiding out while fights are going down, waiting for a good rez.

 

I'm gonna make a bold statement here and say that Mercys that use the one-click-steady-heal mechanic or whatever (where you just click one and it holds your heal beam for you instead of holding the button) are very prone to getting lazy, and it's unbelievably aggravating seeing one afk and leave that on because she expects absolutely nothing to happen around her that's dangerous.

I am dying and you afk'd while damage boosting the McCree. There is no reason why I should be getting the majority of my heals from the cart when I'm the tank.

 

Well and they ARE taking away her ability to rez from spawn (and torb's to ult from spawn) which is a legitimate problem, but I just don't understand anyone who looks at mercy and goes 'no she's easy and lazy' when 99% of the time she's harder to stay alive as than any of the DPS. Just baffles me, it feels like an outgrowth of the whole 'only bad gamers/ girlfriend gamers play healers' shit.

Mind, Lucio can be just as annoying (or more so) than a good mercy.

My opinion is though, mercies that hide and wait for like four or five mans are kind of shit at the character. My goal as a Mercy is not to get huge rezes, my goal is to make sure no one fucking dies and if they do they better die in 2s or 3s. I don't get many huge rezzes but usually my team rarely friggin dies.

 

That is how you do her yes. That and become unkillable. I like her and Ana so much because of how fucking invincible they can be.

 

We've been running Lucio+Mercy on king of the hill maps and it's been working out wonderfully for us. With Lucio on speed and Mercy timing her jumps, we can be on opposite sides of point at any given moment while still healing each other and leaving the enemy team running and screaming. It's great fun.

I'm so fucking smug about this little bit of nothing, but today on Dorado as Genji, I demeched a D.va who'd gone over that little wall (the one at first point that lets you skip the choke) to kill our Widow, and I just. Left her alive as baby D.va, at the very start of the map, while my team was halfway to the second point. She had to walk all the way back on her stubby baby D.va legs.
