Random concept that came to my mind when trying to go to bed: cybertronians are metal and either innately warm or would reflect earth sunlight and be very warm if in enough sun. And many animals seek warm things. So what if cybertronians suddenly having animals on them and having no clue what to do about this. Bumblebee was just waiting in a parking lot and now a cat has crawled into his undercarriage. The autobot base is slowly filled with cats. A bot is trying to hide and watch for others in the woods. Before long hundreds of lizards are sunning on them. They can never stand up again.
I am now accepting this as canon. They once lost Smokescreen for a day because a catmum plus kittens moved in on him.
