Hey hey guys hey So remember how miserable Prowl was in Combiner Wars, getting dragged into a combiner with a bunch of mechs who blithely ignore all of his needs and brush him off when he tries to communicate with them? Now, consider Starscream juggling the Enigma of Combination around, passing it here and there and everywhere, and very much not doing any combining himself. It makes sense from a pure logistics position. He can't command an army of combiners if he's busy being in a combiner himself. But looking at it in terms of being unwilling to merge himself with anyone else, and let them into his head, THAT is some good stuff. The constructicons are very much in tune with each other, the combaticons are used to working as a team, etc. Even in the optimus-prowl-ironhide-mirage-sunstreaker combiner, they had a long history of trusting each other beffore things went to hell. But consider Starscream and his history. And how towards the end of the war, there was stuff like the spotlight: megatron beatdown spectators, and how Thundercracker outright rejected him. Even if he was driving the combiner, I'm having a hard time seeing him trust anyone enough to even consider letting them in his head and seeing what he thinks and feels. Nothing groundbreaking, but it adds an exciting layer of NO to thinking about his attitude towards combining, in terms of himself.
