i'm amused by how jack ended up sorta getting church with his bad ideas (church doesn't approve of jack's methods but he is onboard with the bandits being bad and agrees that something should therefore be done) soon after church made it clear that he didn't want or need lissa's concern about it, all 'cause jack presented a framing in which some of his ideas were a reflection of how much he cared about people. :D

I'm amused by how Jack just makes himself look dumber every time he replies to Mason. Of course I hadn't seen the bit about her being his backup when I posted but when someone points that out to Mason he's just gonna be ...

...wtf? if you knew she was a bandit, meaning your enemy, why did you team up with her?

to be fair, though, that question could potentially have several valid, not-stupid answers. i mean, i'm not sure about the specific borderlands canon, but off the topic of my head come at least two:

a) bandits weren't his enemy then/he hated them less then

or

b) it was a tactical/strategic decision made 'cause he needed the advantage of a team up right then

I want you to know that I was crippled with indecision over whether to have Wrench or Jordi reply to that, but given that murder is the topic du jour in the rest of the rave, I thought Jordi was more thematic.

the she in question was lilith, who... i don't remember if she was a bandit before or after it happened, but jack teamed up with her to help them. lilith was hesitant at first, but eventially warmed up to him until some shenanigans went down and she 'betrayed' him, along with the rest of the squad (+moxxi was his lover). and at least from how i read it jack had warmed up to her enough to become friends/consider her a close friend until the bit with the relic. and after the whole thing with TPS jack went from 'trusting with a side of morally ambiguity' to 'everyone is going to betray you so you better betray them first;.

 

Ironically, this is almost exactly what happened to Amalgamous and their followers during/after the war that Megatronus claims to have started :P They have no issues with the murder or the betrayal (or calling a beauteous sphynx a gremlin :P), just that the one who made.... most of their horrible drawn-out betrayal-filled war possible claimed he was doing all the backstabbing and fearmongering and discrimination and such For The Greater Good as their creator deity's Favored Child.

 

Absolutely! But I'm not betting on Jack phrasing it in a way that will impress Mason.

Aw man, Jack's presence is suddenly making me want to bring in Jedao or Kujen from Machineries of Empire, both of whom are space-magic ghosts who are only conscious of the wider world when attached to people as a "revenant"....

i'm not sure i could do either of them justice, though, alas

 

mind, problematic cat is a lift of one of our cats Apollo. He's... basically the same besides the whole plotting to destroy everything. Take no mind, he picks a Favorite Person and that's the only worthwhile person to him.

(Though, is it really worth it? Apollo's favorite people get their noses chewed on, and their ears, and their eyes drooled directly into, and sometimes he even rubs his snot on them and licks it off. He is, indeed, a very attractive cat.)

Also he is, both in and out of rave, missing both back hips.

Also FWIW, Mason and Alex are about 5 years older than Dipper and Mabel in canon, in addition to being from a Reverse Pines Universe. It's the summer of 2019 where they are. Trump is President and he thinks the Condesce is his friend. Things are going to shit. Gravity Falls is essentially a bastion of safety and sanity, or it was until Condie decided she wanted to get rid of the Pines family, Crime Boss Stan, Warlock Ford, Showmistress Carla and Hippie Soccer Mom Lissa.
