i feel the need to clarify so: the way I'm writing jack he's def open to polyamory and has p strong feelings for more than one person, but by no means does that mean if somebody snatches up one of his current interests do they have to act on it! jack's just going to be plagued with feelings he doesnt care much for

 

I think Jack better worry more about Church not being open to poly!

 

Does Church look as young in his canon as he does in his avatar? because I'm plagued with visions of awfulicious yaoi rn.

Nw! Jordi's not inclined to actually get handsy with someone drunk either, because the sex has been mediocre at best in his experience. He's obviously not above getting someone too drunk to look like an idiot though.

Yeah! It's no problem. Drunk Marcus is a treat, but also a terror, but also a LOT more honest with himself than he is when he's sober. For me my H/C of Marcus goes like this: He likes the idea of women, and likes a lot of women, but it never actually goes beyond that 'I should be dating women because that is What is Expected of Me'. He's just a very gay boy in a very heteronormative world and he doesn't really understand how to express that without freaking out most of the time or lying. Vaginas? He's freaked out by them only on women. He does not actually connect these dots though, because he is Marcus Holloway and while being very smart he is not often very wise.

 

I figured he would! If I didn't have to go to work I'd make Ford wake up but as it is I'm about to step into a quick shower and then I will be on my phone till I get there. And I have a meeting in 2 hours...

 

Lissa will catch on pretty quick. She has a working vomeronasal system and can smell it if someone actually wants to play or not.

technically, in canon, church looks like a blue suit of armor 'cause that's how red vs blue rolls. the only glimpses we get of his appearance beyond that are indirect, since they are of the man that he is an ai copy of - the director.

and i headcanon that church's age, appearance-wise and mentality-wise, is somewhere in his twenties to thirties. but technically church/alpha/epsilon is, at most, eight years old ('cause that's how long ago the director copied himself, making church into an entity separate from him).

and the director is somewhere between his forties and sixties.

 

Lissa actually doesn't have a tail. But she was naked before she put that dress on and you can see her furless-but-still-kinda-pawfeets.

This makes a lot of things make much more sense, like why Church's dialogue with Jack is occasionally eerily reminiscent of my attempts to write smutfic between the ages of 10 and 13, including things I thought were burning sexy that now seem super ridiculous. At least he won't fail biology forever the way I did back then, when I thought the cleavage was the actual erogenous zone of the breasts?

 

Lissa sometimes wonders what having a tail would be like, and may try it someday in the rave. (The genes to produce the tail could presumably be activated, but then she'd have to learn balance all over again and even though her balance would improve she's leery of the time it would take to relearn balance when she and the rest of the family are always getting themselves in trouble.)

church being awkward with jack here is based on how awkward he sometimes gets in canon with tex and when trying to flirt in general.

They sound like baby AIs. Like a little smarter than Eliza. Maybe on Siri's level, but I don't have an iPhone so I'm not sure. But that's what they are.

Re-reading, I think some of what tips me off to the whole 12-year-old me writing romantismut porn is his internal dialogue, like "he feels like Jack's greatest treasure" because I would totally have written that when I was 12 from the POV of one of my Sues. And it just strikes me as a sign of pre/early teen immaturity to think thoughts like that when he's kissing a guy he just met.

I mean, I've picked up/been picked up by guys in bars who were definitely not good relationship material (though better than Jack) and I never thought I felt like their greatest treasure no matter how gentle they were being, because I knew the gentleness was because they were being careful with someone they just met whose limits were unknown territory, not because they had suddenly fallen in magical soulmate love with me? That's the kind of thing 12-16 year olds usually think, which is why we don't let them have sex with adults even if their bodies are ready for it.

It's just a very immature way of thinking. Church comes off very young and inexperienced and Jack comes off kinda creepy because he's eating it up.
