the ais are smart, smarter than siri. they are just chronologically young but mentally older. and also traumatized.

and church is very grandiose and over the top about romance, as both himself and the director and particularly as epsilon. when he falls he falls hard and fast, and he takes a long time to listen to the part of him telling him that he's being unreasonable about things. like... it's hard to explain but like... it's his thing. one of his things. this kind of fanatical devotion.

 

Well yes I'm sure they have more processing power and intelligence than Siri, but...they come off as not knowing how to be people yet in the passage you quoted.

 

yeah, church definitely has trouble with Peopleing. norm the genie-style trouble with Peopleing, not eliza the ai trouble with Peopleing.

and most of the time, you'd be wrong to include caboose and tucker in the category of ais (they are actually just normal humans) but luckily for you, in the section i had quoted, they are ai copies of themselves made by church's mind when he went into the memory unit to search for tex when she got trapped in it, so you're right this time. (long story, i know.)

 

Yeah I can only comment on what you show me. :) Why is that lucky for me, nothing bad's gonna happen if I make a mistake about a canon that I don't even know? People will get that I'm talking about a specific passage...

 

i dunno why it's lucky for you. i guess maybe 'cause people don't like it when they're wrong and so being not-wrong is a stroke of good fortune usually, 'cause it means they don't have to endure the bad feelings that come with being wrong. or maybe i'm just projecting like a mofo there. i dunno.

dave has diarrhea of the mouth and also tends to backpedal/go on the defensive immediately when it sounds like someone is Legitimately Angry because it makes his alarm bells go off

this is a good mix for handling hurting people's feelings well

 

Missha is a wolf. Lissa is a blood player. Which is why Missha's so chill. Because he's semi-tame, around her and her people, but so not domestic.

also also: one of my favorite things about playing them is that insulting each other is their equivalent of whispering sweet nothings on a starlit summer night. it fuels me

don't worry. i'm not pissed and if i feel the need to take church out of the fighting, he'll just get distracted by his boyfriend again. it's worked before, after all. :P

and karkat-church arguing is amusing to me 'cause they are both the screamy-asshole-with-a-heart-of-gold type (though church is making very bad life choices rn). :D:D:D

when jack mentions his 'other' name, he used to be called john before the whole face-relic thing happened. also when i added "a wedding" to his list of things that make people happy, he was thinking about his own!

And Jack is 100% on board with bad choices that's like, his motto at this point! it'll probably end badly, like all his other relationships have, but he's not about to pass of the chance for a good time over something 'so trivial' haha

 

yep. i think church has pretty much no idea that he's making bad choices, it's not something that's registering on a conscious level for him, and all/most of the people who have bothered to tell him he's making bad choices right now have also managed to piss him off somewhere along the way and got him not taking them seriously. :P

 

I am just boggling over why Jack is willing to tolerate all this possessiveness from someone he just met. I would be running for the hills by now. But I admittedly have major problems with that.

 

jack basically feeds off people liking him and him being possessive basically just makes jack excited more than anything! honestly he's pretty possessive himself and would most likely blow a fuse if the tables were turned

Hmm, I have massive abandonment issues too but if I feel like someone is trying to control me I can't get away from them fast enough. I know not everyone's me, but I'm just surprised to see that coming from a big scary dude who likes killing people lol. :)

Lissa also feeds off being liked (she decided she HAD to bang Wrench because he was starry-eyed at her awesome capacity for ethical sluttery and the fact that he is totally in love with Marcus but still adores her as a person means she'll protect him and what's his and now she's getting attached to Marcus and Sitara, too) and can be downright pouty if she thinks someone she likes doesn't like her back, but if you try to control Lissa...you might as well go chasing a whirlwind.
