That sorta reminds me of that episode of God, the Devil and Bob where, due to an error regarding boils, Bob was briefly troubled by a plague of bowls. I mean, sorta troubled. Mildly inconvenienced. It was a lot of bowls.
Well tbh that's because we matched up the canonical circuit boosters and circuit speeders (and Syk) to their most likely human analogues, pf.
the use of names in a lot of red vs blue fic. like, church, for instance. his full name is leonard l. church (and the specific versions of him are called the director, alpha and epsilon) and he is commonly referred to by his last name and/or the name of the specific version of him. in fic, however, he sometimes gets referred to as "leonard" or some short derivative of it, often 'cause the author is trying to show that he is close to the person referring to him with that name - even though everyone in canon (including his ex girlfriend most of the time) refers to him as either church or the director/alpha/epsilon (depending on the version). and like... even though i know that "leonard" is technically his name, "leonard" doesn't feel like him and it ends up really taking me out of the story. and it makes the other characters feel ooc 'cause literally none of the canon characters use "leonard" or any short derivatives of it as often as they do in fics. and leonard makes me think of the character from the big bang theory. :P
In today's YOI Badfic Friend news, this fic updated, and highlights include the author apparently thinking "I don't drink, except for communion wine at Mass" was such a good line that they had to use it in two consecutive chapters and someone not even having ever considered cuddling on the couch with the girl he's been dating for a year and a half.
that feels like an extension of the trope in slash fic in which, when dudes kiss dudes, the men having a masculine way of kissing (or a masculine mouth) is remarked upon. and in which men are considered to always be more aggressive kissers than women, even when that doesn't fit the characterization of the men and women being compared (like, uh... i'm pretty sure that caboose is not actually a more aggressive kisser than tex, despite what at least one church/caboose fic said).
I will also note that the author is claiming that he is Catholic, and then writing him as very transparently an Evangelical Protestant, probably because the author doesn't know there's a difference.
There is at least one major character who used to be a junkie. Spoiler: spoiled because image, not because the content is really much of a spoiler Drift, out of his mind on circuit boosters and also drooling. I'm just not sure the story of a recovered weed addict would hit quite the same notes. So yeah, we get the hard drugs. Woo.
I love Drift And the reason we decided to think harder about the effects of robot drugs was because I was making an OC who was kept pretty much permanently high for a few centuries to keep him quiet and the tfwiki articles on the drugs are incredily sparse
I don't see why not, at least in theory..... Actually pulling it off well would be impressive though.
