Lissa blurs and shrinks, and a small purple-black cat jumps off the lap of a (very surprised) Ford. She runs over and bats playfully at the other cat under the cape.

 

Ford stares at his wife. It has never occurred to him before that he (or she for that matter) could dream himself a cat in here.

Would he even know how to be a cat?

She said that was someone she knows. Who do they know who would turn themselves into a cat?

 

"What the actual fuck did Aunt Lissa just do?"

 

"The answer is obvious, Alex. If you want an explanation..." Ford shrugs. "Technically, what we're doing is astral projection, and it's certainly possible to shapeshift in your astral body, though most people don't even attempt it. That's...not much of a stretch for her, though." He sighs. "It's not like she turned herself into a rodent."

 

"But why?" Alex frowns. There have been other cats in the Rave before, but Lissa played with them in her own form. She doesn't need to be a literal house cat to play with one.

"...is that Wrench?"

 

Ford bursts out laughing. "Probably? I don't know. They're keeping it awfully clean if it is Wrench."

 

For now, Alex was thinking, but then she can't believe he actually said that, and stares at him. "Ew, Grunkle Ford." She rolls her eyes and snorts. She's eighteen, she's not even a virgin, but she still can't help thinking: adults are gross.

 

*he is Assailed!!! Plays through the cape with muffled little meows and trills*

A smol purple-black cat (not much bigger than a kitten, tee bee aitch) looks up at Wrench and trills softly. She knows he's afraid of some animals. Will he be afraid of her? She does not think about the likelihood that Marcus will pounce her now because she's distracted.

 

*he is the cape KING-- wait is that Wrench?! Pokes his head out and meows excitedly. Wrench! Headbumps at Lissa before pouncing forward and running for Wrench. My dude!*

 

I dunno, Marcus or Sitara, maybe? Or... Jooooosh?
