I'm... split up. As a god I can be be in many places at once. I kind of have to be. This place is... more for others than myself. But it's still part of me, and it suits me. Part of me lives here, because I don't just take lives. My sister and I look after the dead until they can rejoin the cycle- if they rejoin the cycle. I'm the lady of unkind death; the ones I take need looking after most of all. They deserve it, the ones who die hurt and scared, who die fighting, whose lives are taken. I owe it to them to keep a place of peace.

I do have my own realm, where I go to be myself that I made entirely from my own will. It's a sort of external part of my soul. Only I can go there freely; not even my siblings can enter without an invitation. And I've brought more of my chosen mortals in than I've opened the door for the other four.

I do like it here. There's always a quiet spot, and I'm glad to see my people at peace even if it comes after their lives.

 

Football's common at the colleges and, less formally, in the street. I grew up more around cricket, boat races on the Thames which I'm pretty sure is flammable, hunting, and archery. Not allowed to participate though, as ladies are lacking in strength and finesse. -there's enough derision to build a homunculus and choke it to death- Croquet, lawn tennis, and maybe horseback riding for us. Some learn duelling or falconry if their families are permissive. -hers pretty obviously was not. Especially since her uncle's Sudden and Mysterious death is what opened up the wonderful world of murder to her-

 

From what I know of things, it was complicated. I haven't dug into the details though, since things seem to have worked out and I'm disinclined to dig up things that aren't an active concern. Stan isn't inclined towards doing it again, and if he did there's a list of people who'd have his head before I could stand up. Starting with Geth.

Lissa sighs. "I fell in love with him, too."

 

"I know. But you were still conflicted about it, so helping him do everything we could to make you want to be alive and want us all to be alive was on the menu." Angeth quirks a smile. "You were cute then, but I like you better now."

 

[karkat is still looking around, but there's (somewhat) less of a frantic edge to it. he casts a considering glance towards the sashimi-equivalent]

[he picks up one of the damp books and flips it open. this is...it's weird, he's never died before, and he wasn't really thinking about what would happen after it stopped hurting and he was still around, in a sense. but there's books, and no one is going to send him any messages, so this is probably not a bad afterlife. even if it is temporary]

I'm glad you think it's nice. For a long time I wasn't sure I could create anything that wasn't high-octane nightmare fuel, I only quit reshaping everything after Greengrower told me it was good enough and taking everything apart to put it back together was giving her headaches.

I don't think either of my time-aligned brothers know how clockwork works. I've seen the insides but haven't a clue. Zedra used to smash pocketwatches when she was mad. If you get a heeled boot on them just right the back pops right off.

Whatever you wanted. The full realm is expansive, you could find a corner with what you wanted. I could probably pull something through if there was something specific you wanted. This section is mostly used by my chosen- agents who get things done for me because manifesting fully is a bitch. Food they probably didn't get enough of in life, spots to rest, shiny little mysteries I've collected. Nobody demanding anything.

I did chose it. And maybe we could rest a while if we dealt with the head. But I'd have to convince my brother for that. I can't see the future as pertains to gods, but I suspect it'll take a few more arguments- or a few hundred- to pull his head out of his ass.
